			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A quest for self improvement often begins when people take a look in the mirror and decide that they just don&#8217;t like what they see. Weight loss companies make billions of dollars from people discontented with their bodies, and oftentimes people pour money into programs with no results or instead with results which are merely temporary. In order to make physical changes permanent, people need to consider their goal to be a long term one, and not look for a quick fix.</p>
<p>Before beginning the endeavor of improving physical health, it is important for people to meet up with their doctor. This advice is more than simply something which is plastered on every exercise machine, book, and program; it is sage advice which is meant to make sure people do not jump into a program their body cannot handle. Unless there is a history of health problems in a person&#8217;s family, he or she may not really know what sort of disease or ailment may be waiting to emerge. After all, heart disease is referred to as The Silent Killer because oftentimes there are no blatant warning signs before a person&#8217;s heart gives out. Visiting a doctor and requesting a complete physical is the best place to start because a doctor is the only person who can rule out any underlying physical conditions which may need attention.</p>
<p>After the visit to the doctor, a person should set some small goals to reach their large goal. For example, if a man is looking to lose thirty pounds he may want to break the goal up into small increments to make it more manageable: five pounds by his impending birthday, five more pounds before vacation, and so on until the ultimate goal of fifty pounds is reached. Along the way, he should certainly allow for rewards with each small goal accomplished. Perhaps he might purchase a new workout outfit with each five pounds lost, or instead treat himself to a night at the movies each time he gets five pounds closer to his ultimate goal. Not recognizing all the small successes along the way might result in his losing his momentum and eventually getting off track. The main point is to stay motivated.</p>
<p>A better physical condition does not always include losing weight. Some people need to gain weight, some people need to build muscle mass, and for many people the exclusion of cigarettes or alcohol from their daily repertoire might be the thing to improve their health. The important thing is to recognize what needs to be done in order to reach the ultimate goal of better health. An aspiration such as this is indeed a valid goal when it comes to self improvement because not only will it improve a person&#8217;s quality of life, but it may actually wind up lengthening it as well. People might set self improvement goals such as getting finances in order or meeting their soul mate, but the goal of becoming physically healthy is a worthy goal indeed.</p>

<p>Logbook, Diary or Personal Journal</p>
<p>Manage your yoga sessions with a handy log book, diary or personal journal for recording class times, length of sessions, feedback and other data you&#8217;d like to note for future reference. You can check out log books and journals at your local bookstore, library or online, to see which type you might prefer to try. You could also grab a 3-ring binder and print out home-made log sheets made from software on your computer like Microsoft Word or Excel.</p>
<p>After you choose which type to use, keep it in a convenient location to grab on the go and use both at home and at your yoga class regularly. You could keep it near your gym bag stuffed with your loose clothing and roll up mat, for example, and keep a pencil with eraser handy there, too, to jot notes in the book as needed.</p>
<p>Planners or Calendars</p>
<p>You also need to make sure to coordinate your yoga activities with the rest of your daily plans. So grab your calendar, day planner or other organizing tool(s) for this. A popular way on computers today is to log your yoga sessions into a software calendar like Microsoft Outlook offers and print them out if you need to. With online calendars like Outlook, you can set up your yoga session on one day, then schedule it to repeat automatically on its own daily, bi-weekly, on the same day of the week and other options. This way you won&#8217;t forget upcoming yoga classes.</p>
<p>Other popular calendar and planner systems are sold by Franklin Covey and other brand names at a local office supply store. Check out their software that&#8217;s compatible with Outlook and even handheld computers. Or choose from a variety of ringed binder-type planners.</p>
<p>When you have your choice, follow up, logging and keeping your yoga dates regularly. See what works best and revise your management tools and skills &#8211; and get help with them either from the place of purchase or your yoga instructor &#8211; as needed.</p>

There are many different types of exercise and there is something suitable for everyone and for people of all ages, here we take a look at some of the most popular forms.</p>
<p>When starting out with any type of exercise plan it is important to start out slowly and work your way up to more strenuous routines. If you haven&#8217;t had a previous routine and are a total newbie to it then it is wise to start out with just 5 minutes of exercise per day with a 5 minute recovery period. When starting out don&#8217;t go straight into something such as lifting large amounts of weights but rather start off with gentle exercise such as walking.</p>
<p>Even if you are fairly fit and healthy you don&#8217;t have to invest a large amount of your time in a routine, the main concern is that you take some form of exercise every day or at least three or four days a week even if it&#8217;s only for 15 minutes or so per day. Exercising doesn&#8217;t have to cost a fortune; you don&#8217;t have to take out an expensive subscription to a gym. Here are some of the most common forms of exercise that&#8217;s don&#8217;t cost anything and which are excellent ways to stay fit and thin.</p>
<p>Instead of taking the car or bus everywhere you go, try bike riding. Cycling is an excellent form of exercise that is good for all muscles and gets the cardiovascular system pumping; it is a great form of exercise for those who suffer from respiratory problems as it opens the chest. Cycling for just 10 or 15 mins a day will not only keep you fit but will also help you to stay trim, a more extensive bike ride will allow you to shed a pounds too.</p>
<p>Walking is the easiest and cheapest way to stay fit and healthy and it doesn&#8217;t cost a cent. While some people choose to go power walking and this is a very energetic form of walking, walking for exercise can be done at a much more moderate or slower pace and so is an excellent form of exercise for people of all ages and fitness. As little as five minutes per day can get you started towards being happier, healthier and thinner, walking is excellent for strengthening the muscles of the legs, trimming the thighs and the buttock.</p>
<p>Swimming is another form of exercise that can be done by people of all ages and can be done moderately or at a faster pace such as setting a certain amount of laps to be done in an hour. Swimming is an excellent source of exercise particularly for those who suffer from joint problems or conditions such as asthma.</p>
<p>As you can see you don&#8217;t have to devote many hours per week to and exercise routine just a few each week and you are on the way to a thinner and fitter you.</p>

In feeling better, you will portray an outward glow that will draw others to you and they will be helpless but to feel happy after they&#8217;ve been in your presence.</p>
<p>As we all know, when someone says that they are going to get fit, they mean that they are going to lose weight. No one would oppose this. There are very few people, especially in the United States, that couldn&#8217;t afford to lose a few pounds. A trimmer figure will result in more heads being turned your way. Whether or not you&#8217;re in a committed relationship doesn&#8217;t matter, everyone enjoys being appreciated. It makes a person feel good and happy about themselves. That happiness is catching and makes others feel happy.</p>
<p>Along with a fit, trim body giving self confidence, there are other benefits that will equally improve your quality of life. When you exercise and eat right, as odd as it may sound, you will gain energy. Your body is not so busy working hard to process all the heavy foods that you&#8217;ve become accustomed to eating, so energy can be used elsewhere. When your energy levels are up, you will be a happier individual.</p>
<p>When you have more energy physically to draw from, your mind becomes more alert to everything that is going on around you. When you are fighting fatigue daily due to diet and lack of exercise, your mind will be so busy trying to get through its everyday tasks with enough energy, there will be nothing left at the end of the day. When you have more energy due to diet and exercise, your mind will be able to stay alert longer and accomplish more tasks with more attention to detail.</p>
<p>A truly fit person will emit a happiness and health that will make others want to join them in what they&#8217;ve been doing. A physically fit body is an attractive one that other people will achieve to have when they&#8217;ve seen it. A fit mind and spirit will use the excess energy you have from physical exercise to create a happier, more energetic you that others will yearn to share in.</p>
<p>In addition to physically fit and stable, a person that focuses on their body&#8217;s health will likely live longer than those that do not. A person that practices exercise is less likely to have a heart attack or to develop diabetes. Due to exercise of the cardiovascular system as well as any muscular area that requires focus, your body will be better prepared for whatever illnesses may come its way.</p>
<p>We all want to be happy. Fitness will help us achieve that happiness. A physically fit body is a secure way to a person that also emits a mental happiness. All around, being physically fit will lead to improvement in all areas of your life.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We all like to look our best and it doesn&#8217;t have to cost us a fortune, there is no need to pay exorbitant prices for beauty products, in fact most of the everyday beauty products can be made at home quite easily and with little cost.</p>
<p>Shiny hair straight from the refrigerator</p>
<p>If you have problem hair then there is no need to pay out for salon prices for conditioner, simply take a jar of mayonnaise and work some through your hair from the roots down to the tips. When you have done this put a heated towel around your head to totally cover your hair and leave it for ten minutes. When you have done this just rinse the mayo off and shampoo it with your normal shampoo.</p>
<p>Homemade exfoliants</p>
<p>If you have sensitive skin then this can be treated with a homemade gentle skin exfoliation, take 1/2 a cup of cornmeal and mix this with a 1/4 cup of milk. Add to this 2 teaspoons of baking soda and a tablespoon of olive oil and then apply this to your skin.</p>
<p>To make a simply face scrub to get rid of the dirt and grime of the day make a walnut scrub and gently cleanse your face with this before retiring for the night.</p>
<p>Facial masks don&#8217;t have to cost a fortune; there are many products around the home which can be used for a facial mask. Take a couple of carrots and put them in your food processor, mix this with a little honey and then apply to the skin and leave for ten minutes before rinsing off with cool water. An alternative to this is to use pure honey, first place a cloth in warm water; this will open up the pores. When you have done this simply smear the homey over your face and leave for 15 minutes before rinsing off with warm water and following this with cold to close your pores.</p>
<p>Epsom salts</p>
<p>A great and very cheap beauty enhancing treatment is Epsom salts. For exfoliation simply take a cheap brand of cleansing cream and mix 1/2 a teaspoon of salts into it. If you want to give yourself a spa treatment then take a handful of Epsom salts and gently massage this into your skin after a shower.</p>
<p>Dark circles?  No problem!</p>
<p>If you have dark circles under your eyes then these can be relieved by taking a potato and putting it into the food processor, when you have done this put it into a piece of cheesecloth, fold it and apply it under the eyes.</p>
<p>Wrinkle free</p>
<p>A great way to combat wrinkles is to use banana, mash up with a fork a 1/4 of a banana and then apply this to the face, leaving this for about 20 minutes before finally washing it off and gently splashing cold water over the face before patting it dry.</p>
<p>No more aches</p>
<p>If your feet are aching and tired after being on them all day long then ease them by soaking your feet in a tub of warm water mixed with some Epsom salts. Leave your feet to soak for about 20 minutes then replace the Epsom salts with just warm water and give your feet a gentle wash.</p>

Because your life is a busy one, several small meals may not be an option, but snacks definitely are!</p>
<p>When you think of the word snack, you are probably imagining things like potato chips and candy bars. While these things are good for an energy boost, they&#8217;re not a good option when you look in the long term. The sugar high wears off, leaving you feeling tired, sluggish, and probably dehydrated on top of that. Those are certainly not feelings you want to have during your day.</p>
<p>The first key is learning to listen to your body. When you&#8217;re feeling down and reaching for the Twinkie, think about why you are doing it. Most likely, it is because you&#8217;re lacking sugar. If sugar is the problem, a fruit snack of some sort is the answer, not a Twinkie. Fruit snacks, like Gushers and Fruit Roll-Ups are better than candy, as they&#8217;re high in vitamin C, but less healthy than actual fruit.</p>
<p>Some fruits that are good for an on-the-go life style are apples and oranges, which are easy to carry in a purse or backpack, and dried cranberries, which can satisfy that sugar craving. Bananas are all-around winners, being high in potassium and easy to eat while driving or traveling.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t make the mistake of thinking that healthy means boring. Hummus is a dip made of ground chickpeas, tahini sauce, lemon juice and garlic, and spread on pita bread, making it a versatile and quick snack. This Middle Eastern staple can be found in many flavors and can be prepared quickly.</p>
<p>Anything involving whole-grains is good for a snack when you&#8217;re feeling low on energy. They are rich in fiber and complex carbohydrates, which is excellent when you&#8217;ve got a long day ahead of you and not much time. Some suggestions include whole-grain crackers and whole-grain pretzels, which are found in every supermarket.</p>
<p>For a protein fix, try nuts and seeds. While high in calories, nuts and seeds contain mostly mono-saturated fat, a kind of fat that is healthy for you. Similarly, a handful of sunflower seeds or cashews will keep you fuller for a longer period of time than anything sugary.</p>
<p>For those that crave dairy, cheese and yogurt are ideal for a midday pick-me-up. They are also good sources of calcium and protein, a necessity for people looking to lose weight. Though you should be careful as dairy products are high in fat, there is a wide variety of dairy products that are very good for you. You might try mixing yogurt with granola to create an especially filling, healthy treat.</p>
<p>Healthy eating doesn&#8217;t have to be a chore and even your snacks can taste great and be great for you, if you just keep a few things in mind.</p>

It was formulated by Joseph Pilates more than 80 years ago by taking inspiration from the ancient Yoga postures.</p>
<p>Although Pilates is not as complete and holistic health system like Yoga, it seeks to reach more or less the same physical fitness goals as Yoga through a series of controlled movements and breathing regulation. It is particularly effective for aesthetic body sculpting and makes you feel and look tall, lean and svelte.</p>
<p>Pilates basically represents the adaptation of certain yoga exercises for performing them using an exercise gear, the Pilates machine, for specific and limited purpose &#8211; i.e., core strength development, perfect body alignment and posture. The Pilates machine makes these exercises much easier to learn and more fun to perform. Pilates is a dynamic form of Yoga, you can say. Similar to yoga, the emphasis in Pilates is on concentration, control, breathing and precision. And just like in yoga, one&#8217;s own body weight is used for resistance and strength development.</p>
<p>However, Pilates highlights just a tiny aspect of the vast discipline of Yoga, which encompasses what Pilates comprises plus much more. Yoga lays emphasis on uniting the mind, body and spirit. It involves a combination of physical exercises, breathing exercises and meditation and is aimed at promoting flexibility, increase stamina and strength, reduce stress and cure ailments. Yoga is considered therapeutic not only for the body but also for the mind and spirit. People practice Yoga not only to feel more physically fit and energetic, but also to reduce stress and anxiety and achieve inner peace and happiness.</p>
<p>Yoga is the most holistic approach to physical and mental well-being known to mankind. It is not just a physical exercise program &#8211; it is a complete system for physical and mental health, covering additional aspects like proper breathing, relaxation, internal hygiene, diet, meditation and ultimately self-realization. The Yoga exercises are meant not only to make you physically fit and strong, they are also designed to set right the functioning of the internal organs by bathing them with rich oxygenated blood and life force energy. Yoga regulates the endocrine system, strengthens the respiratory system, improves digestion and elimination and perks up the reproductive system.</p>
<p>So, what should you be doing for overall health and fitness &#8211; Pilates or Yoga? The answer is a sensible combination of the physical and meditative aspects of both. Both, on some level, share the same goal of strengthening of the body using your own body weight for resistance. In fact, many of their movements and postures are strikingly similar. And, similar to Yoga, even Pilates can be performed as floor (mat) exercises if you don&#8217;t want to spend money on buying Pilates equipment. Pilates is relatively easier to learn and simpler to understand and tends to give faster results. But ultimately the choice is yours depending upon your patience level and the goals you have set for yourself: just physical fitness and a svelte figure or all that plus long-lasting inner peace and happiness.</p>

<p>Taking advice from a qualified physical fitness trainer or healthcare professional regarding what type of physical exercises are suitable for you is essential. However, more than that, being aware of the way in which they have to be done or not done is also necessary. Never ignore expert advice in the matter of choosing the right exercises or in the duration for which they should be done. Knowing the right way to do the exercises is also important.</p>
<p>Many new comers to physical exercise, in their over-enthusiasm, try to achieve too much too quickly by overdoing things. They try exercise programs that do not take into consideration their present level of physical fitness or health. This is a very common mistake that has to be avoided.</p>
<p>Taken in by attractively packaged ads, some people set unrealistic goals. They think that by means of vigorous physical exercise they can lose weight at the rate of a pound a day or lose their belly fat to look like movie heroes. If you do not want to be disappointed and give up physical exercise altogether out of frustration, it will be better to aim at achieving small successes gradually. If necessary, revise your goals as and when needed, in order to be realistic in your approach.</p>
<p>Another very important aspect to remember while exercising is breathing. While breathing happens involuntarily at all times, it is essential to breathe in and breathe out properly during work out. Shallow breathing will not help at all. Incorrect breathing techniques may deplete the oxygen supply to the body and make the workout more difficult and cumbersome than it needs to be.</p>
<p>For weight training, again, you have to choose the right weights to lift. If they are too light, the training will be ineffective. If they are too heavy for you, you may invite avoidable harm or injury to your body. Your fitness expert should be able to guide you through a progressive increase in the weights to be lifted for improvement in your muscle strength and overall health.</p>
<p>As your physical work out is likely to be quite strenuous, your body requires  adequate re-hydration. You have to drink enough water. Even before the exercise routine begins, it is advisable to drink water.</p>
<p>Warming up before the actual physical work out and cooling down after the routine is as important as the physical exercise proper. If you directly start your exercise regimen when your body is not made ready for it, the exercise will be counterproductive. Similarly, cooling down time will bring your body back to its normal state.</p>
<p>The most important thing about any physical exercise is that you should be able to enjoy the activity instead of feeling it as an unpleasant grind that you would rather skip.</p>

Self improvement goals often include wanting to look more attractive and to feel better about one&#8217;s self, and with all the different opportunities to improve appearances it isn&#8217;t difficult to get a whole new look with one trip to the mall.</p>
<p>Women and men alike both aspire to have improved appearances. One way to go about getting a new look is to go into a salon and announce, &#8220;Do with me what you will!&#8221; to the stylist and hope that the stylist isn&#8217;t too eccentric. A more conservative route, however, is to research various hairstyles and any other salon treatments and walk into the establishment with a firm idea of what sort of look is desired. Men traditionally request a new hairstyle, while women might request a new hairstyle, all sorts of different waxing, a makeup consultation, and any number of different spa services from getting wrapped in seaweed to having a full body scrub. In today&#8217;s day and age, however, it is not uncommon for men to look into getting these sorts of services, and there are even salons which cater exclusively to men. This is good news for guys who feel apprehensive in the first place about marching into a salon and requesting services.</p>
<p>A new wardrobe can help with a new look. Many people&#8217;s closets are filled with clothes that they have had for years. A trip to a clothing store is in order for people looking to change up their appearance, and even if these people have no idea as to what is currently stylish there are plenty of salespeople lurking about to help. There are actually professional stylists and shoppers who will accompany people to clothing stores and help them pick out what looks best while also remaining trendy, but in all actuality most shoppers can glance at what the mannequins in the store are wearing and do a pretty good job from there. The key is to find flattering clothes which compliment a person&#8217;s personal sense of style while also bringing the person into a more modern fashion era.</p>
<p>Other things can be done to make over a person&#8217;s look. A new exercise regimen can tone up a person&#8217;s body and make him or her not only look better, but feel better as well. New habits such as drinking more water or chewing gum instead of smoking will also make a person&#8217;s appearance more attractive. A word of caution: it is important for people to deal with whatever is going on inside their minds which makes them feel as though they need the makeover. It is one thing for a person to simply decide it is time to have a fresh look, but it is another thing entirely for someone to constantly try to change the outward appearance to mask emotional turmoil. Makeovers are not innately bad, and can be a lot of fun, but big changes happen on the inside, not the outside.</p>

While yoga works particularly well on its own when combined with a yogic diet it is one of the most successful ways to enjoy a healthier you.</p>
<p>When undertaken this way it is one of the most beneficial systems of total health care and allows us to nourish not only our body but also our mind that in turn allows us to remain in tip top shape and ready to face anything. While eating a proper diet means many things to different people when it comes to yogic eating there are a few essentials that you should know.</p>
<p>A yogic diet consists of the following foods, although it has to be said that eating the yogic way isn&#8217;t essentially a diet that has to be followed but rather teaching you to eat correctly and to change the bad habits that you have gotten into over the years. On a day-to-day basis the following foods should be eaten as routine and should always exists in your diet: Honey, nut, seeds, lentils, beans, cereals, whole grains, pasta, rice, fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, milk, and yogurt.</p>
<p>These are the essentials which your diet shouldn&#8217;t be without, of course there are no very tight restrictions to what you can and cannot eat but the foods listed above should be included in your daily diet as matter of routine. The yogic way of eating is often likened to that of a vegetarian and you can&#8217;t be expected to change the habits of a lifetime and go with the more vegetarian way of the yogic diet. However you should try to minimize the amount of red meat that you do eat and instead eat more fresh green vegetables, however if there are certain foods which you absolutely love then by all means don&#8217;t deny these, just don&#8217;t have them everyday.</p>
<p>Whenever possible try to include as much protein in the form of nuts, whole grains and cheese along with plenty of salad products and raw vegetables. Vegetables should be eaten raw wherever possible when following the yogic way of eating. Fresh fruit is essential as this has a lot of the necessary vitamins that the body needs and of course you should try and limit if not give up totally the amount of junk food that you eat.</p>
<p>You should never eat more than you actually need to, overeating when following the yogic diet is frowned upon and considered bad for the body. Re-heating food is also considered a bad thing as this can destroy much of the nutrients and vitamins in food along with introducing germs.</p>
<p>Above all when moving onto the yogic way of eating, don&#8217;t expect miracles of yourself or set goals that you can&#8217;t possibly stick with, if you love red meat then don&#8217;t tell yourself you cant have it, by doing this you are setting yourself up for failure. Instead just have a little bit of what you fancy every now and again.</p>

<p>Luckily when it comes to exercising there are a wide variety of options you have for a plan of action. This means there is no reason for failure as there is no excuse for getting bored. Here are some of the top ways that you can get fit and healthy without getting into a rut.</p>
<p>Swimming is one of the best forms of exercise that you can have, this can be something as simple as doing a few slow laps alone or doing a more vigorous swim by having someone time you how many laps you can do within an hour. Swimming is good for all of the joints and muscles in your body and so is an all-round excellent form of exercise. It can be undertaken by anyone and is especially beneficial for those who suffer from chest problems such as asthma and breathing difficulties. It can also be done by the elderly, pregnant women and those suffering from back or neck pain quite safely.</p>
<p>Walking is another form of exercise which can be done by anyone quite safely and can vary in pace. A brisk power walk will get the blood flowing throughout the body and is excellent for the cardio-vascular system and the heart and lungs. Walking steadily is just as good a form and one that is excellent for the muscles in the legs, thighs and buttocks. Walking can be done alone or you can make it a family affair and get the whole family involved and on their way to being fitter and healthier.</p>
<p>If you find that exercising alone is boring and you need some company then join a gym, gyms vary so make sure you check out two or three and see what they have to offer and if they offer any special reductions or activities that you are particularly interested in. most gyms have beginners classes and here you won&#8217;t feel as left out as joining and exercising with those that are trim and slim.</p>
<p>Another option for those who want to try something a little different is to take up yoga or tai-chi there are many classes on both subjects and it&#8217;s just a matter of finding a beginner class in your area. Yoga is particularly effective as exercise for the whole body and mind and is one of the most relaxing of all forms of exercise. Tai-chi is a little on the slower side and relies on slow movement, so is of use for those who are older or those who suffer from illnesses such as arthritis.</p>
<p>The most important thing to not getting bored is all about a mixture; don&#8217;t get stuck with just one form of exercise but do something different throughout the week. One day go swimming, the next walking or cycling and the next go to a yoga class, mix it up a bit and don&#8217;t fall into the trap of boredom.</p>

<p>A scientific study was recently undertaken with a group of women who were suffering from breast cancer and who were having treatment for the illness. The group of women who tried yoga during the treatment for their breast cancer recovered better from the treatment and also had fewer side effects from the treatment. It is thought that yoga works due to its ability to relax and yoga is the first type of exercise to be studied in this way and thought to be a very beneficial form of exercise for those having treatment for breast cancer.</p>
<p>A holistic healing system</p>
<p>Yoga is classed as a holistic healing system. It is thought to be able to help the person create harmony with the body and mind and is a very spiritual form of exercise. It is thought that those who suffer from such as devastating illness as cancer that yoga can help to restore the balance and bring peace and harmony back. Yoga can help to bring back a feeling of self-awareness, faith and belief after cancer has devastated the body and mind. Over the decades yoga has proven to be very beneficial on both the physical and emotional health, although most of the studies into the benefits that yoga has on cancer patients has been undertaken in India, studies are now being done all over the world and particularly in Western countries.</p>
<p>Faster recovery</p>
<p>The positive effects that cancer patients have felt when they have undertaken yoga on a regular basis include being able to recover from treatments relating to their cancer more quickly which means that treatment can be performed more often. Patients have said that they find that they sleep better, their motor skills have improved, they can manage pain much better and perhaps the biggest benefit, their outlook on their illness and the outcome has been changed to a more positive one.</p>
<p>Creating a positive mindset</p>
<p>Out of the studies that have been undertaken research has suggested that the most compelling reason for those suffering from and overcoming cancer to turn to yoga on a regular basis is the fact that the person begins to think about their body and the illness and accept and tackle it rather than running away or hiding from it. Yoga help on three basic levels, the first being that it increases the energy and therefore the immune system is given a boost. The second is the benefits on the psychological level and finally spiritually, you are able to take a long hard look at yourself and your illness and realise that while you cant change what has happened you can do something to deal with and make things easier.</p>

Mixed with neem powder, mint leaves and a little turmeric powder, basil leaves are good for dark spots on the face. Another useful herbal product is Primrose oil. It works well for improving skin texture, hair growth as well as the health of your nails.</p>
<p>When mixed with rosewater, lemon and milk, Turmeric powder forms into a paste, which can be applied and left on the face for about fifteen minutes and then washed off with cold water. Turmeric is good for oily skin. Thyme is used in ointments for reducing skin spots. For reducing wrinkles on the skin and energizing the skin, Rosemary oil can be topically applied. Rosemary improves blood circulation.</p>

It is a matter of concern as to whether such products will cause damage to the baby. The level of safety during the use of hair dye on pregnant women is questionable. The body is able to absorb very little of the hair dye that is applied. So, it is not likely that the chemicals which are absorbed by the system will harm the baby. It would be better to consult a health care professional about the use of hair dye during pregnancy.</p>
<p>Another case where a relation between health and beauty arises is the aging of skin. Changes begin to appear in the skin when people begin to grow old. Changes in skin arising due to increase in age are thinning of skin as well as wrinkles. Sometimes, the skin begins to sag. The skin provides protection against the environment. Regulation of body temperature is enabled by the skin. The skin can be divided into layers. Changes in skin may occur due to certain environmental conditions, nutritional factors and genetic factors. <p>Older women can experience some skin disorders. Other diseases such as heart or liver diseases, diabetes can result in skin disorders. Obesity or stress can cause skin disorders. Sunburn should be avoided. Use of sunscreen and protective clothing is necessary. Lotions should be used regularly to maintain the moisture of the skin. Then when you&#8217;re finished with all your research, begin writing down positive yoga goals as well as steps to reach them, based upon your research. For example, if you seek improved breathing for asthma with yoga sessions, goals might be first to check with your doctor, then learn yoga and monitor your progress and growth, checking to see if yoga helps when you have your next wheezing attacks.</p>

You&#8217;re not one of the hundreds of people who believed the advertising of the 1920s and the 1930s and thought that ingesting a tapeworm was a good way to lose weight. Whether or not the unregulated pills actually contained tapeworms is uncertain, but the idea of contracting parasites to lose weight is ludicrous to say the least!</p>
<p>For those die-hard fans of J. R. R. Tolkien&#8217;s Lord of the Rings trilogy, getting fit has never been easier than with the Walking to Rivendell Tracker. You can enter the miles you&#8217;ve walked into the online program and calculate how far you&#8217;ve come along the path traveled by Frodo and his friends as they leave their home to encounter horrors and nightmares they never imagined.</p>
<p>In a more international vein, you can get in shape with Indian fitness instructor Hemalayaa, who adds yoga techniques to fast and fun Bollywood dance styles, creating a workout that will have you ready for a wet sari scene in no time.</p>
<p>Racier but just as popular is Carmen Electra&#8217;s Aerobic Striptease DVD. Created by top choreographers and fitness professionals, this DVD combines sensuality and fitness and gives you a workout that concentrates on the hips, thighs, buns and abs. It comes complete with a dancer&#8217;s warm up and multiple music tracks.</p>
<p>Amazon.com is a wonderful, weird place. If you type in two seemingly random words, chances are, you&#8217;ll get a result. One search turned up the Water Tai Chi with Carol Argo DVD. The restful meditative art of Tai Chi is combined with the positive properties of moving in water. The body is more supported, leading to less stress on the joints and the water improves grace, coordination and posture.</p>
<p>Sometimes, exercise can even be inspirational. In 2006, a 14-year old made history when he became the first person in the world to perform a back-flip in his wheelchair. Footage of this event can be found on Google Video.</p>
<p>Youtube.com is a place where anyone can upload their personal videos and let the whole world see. This actually becomes a valuable tool for anyone who is looking for examples of strange or exotic exercises that they would like to try. For a real treat, go to youtube.com and search for the term &#8220;capoeira,&#8221; the Brazilian martial art disguised as improvisational dance.</p>
<p>Exercise has many serious benefits, both to the body and the mind, but don&#8217;t forget, it&#8217;s also supposed to be fun!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>While we all think of yoga as being curled or stretched into unimaginable positions, yoga is a form of exercise that you can do everyday and only take a few minutes to perform. It will keep your joints supple and your mind calmer and more active, the exercise don&#8217;t need any special training and can be performed by anyone. Here are a few very easy yoga stretches that you should make a part of your daily life.</p>
<p>The first quick and easy exercise that you can do and which only take a few minutes to perform and which stretches the whole body and joints are to stand and raise your hands above your head. Gently lock your fingers together above your head and lean slowly to the right, then come back up to the middle position and move over to the left. Try to keep your breathing slow and relaxed breathing in through your nose and slowly out through your mouth.</p>
<p>The second exercise that is just as beneficial and is an excellent way to relive tension is to stand and slowly exhale letting all tension leaves your body. Then as you breathe in slowly lift your shoulders up towards your ears and as you reach this point let your breathe leave your body, repeat this exercise four of five times.</p>
<p>This exercise can be done either stood up or sat down, however make sure that your feet are firmly planted on the ground and slowly breathe in as you raise your arms up and out to the side with the palms of your hands facing down. As you let out your breath rotate the palms up and has you do roll your shoulders back. When you exhale bring the arms back into the body and bend the elbows in to the waist. This exercise is an excellent way to open up the chest in those who suffer from respiratory problems.</p>
<p>Stand up and lace your fingers behind your back, begin to stretch the shoulder and raise the arms slightly behind your back, stretching the shoulders and opening the chest.</p>
<p>Make sure you are standing by a wall and place one hand on the wall with your arms outstretched, as you exhale begin turning your head to look to the side and repeat this exercise around 10 times.</p>
<p>Stand by a desk and gently place your hands on top of the desk while standing up straight, make sure the fingers are facing towards the body. Gently lean forward and stretch the lower wrist and fingers.</p>
<p>Begin this exercise by lifting one arm into the air, as you exhale drop the arm behind the shoulder and as you do bring your other arm and hand and place the hand on the elbow of the arm that&#8217;s behind your back. Repeat this exercise four or five times and then repeat with the other arm.</p>
<p>This is an excellent exercise if you have a chair with castors, sit on the chair at your desk and place your hands on the top of the desk, gently push the chair back keeping the hands on the desk and exhale as you push back.</p>
