Traumatic grief is an uncomfortable state of mind that sets in due the traumatic loss of a loved one or some priced possession. It is a higher level of complicated grief. People who mostly in young age have suffered a major loss suffer from traumatic grief that further leads to illnesses, serious diseases and many disorders. The mind and body stop responding to simulations and acts happening around. The sudden state of shock with emotional imbalance leads to other serious problems. Traumatic grief if not checked or treated with alternate remedies can eventually become a disastrous menace.

Traumatic grief: Inside out

Many organizations in world today are assisting people, orphans, senior citizens who’ve been totally taken aback in life due to traumatic grief. Traumatic grief many a times shapes up as destructive grief that is not only harmful to one’s own self but also to the victims near and dear ones. Traumatic grief is accompanied by traumatic mourning, anger, guilt and even a sense of revenge at times. When critical relationships meet their end, when a sudden death afflicts a family the post effects and symptoms are inevitable which generally lead to traumatic grief. It is said that death leads to more death. The unforgettable loss of close persons or things leads to difficult situations. This hardship produces intense sensitivity to stimulus and extreme agitation, survivor guilt, invasive (uncontrolled and unwanted) thoughts and agitation. Inner self and conscience becomes inert and passive to normal gestures and routines.

Remedial Measures

A number of techniques have been developed to deal with traumatic grief. Traumatic grief treatment is a recently developed intrusion for a weakening bereavement-related condition.

Traumatic grief treatment techniques target emotional anguish and behavioral dodging with interpersonal relationship management as a major sub-juncture. The intensity is of traumatic grief is brought down considerably by alternate medicine therapies like aromatherapy, ‘yoga’, chelation therapy, chiropractic and homeopathy. With a slight effort and the will to recover out of the enduring trauma, one can be happy and satisfied even after major losses and disconcert situations.

We should accept the fact with full grace that shocks and sadness are an inseparable part of one’s life. One should efficiently search for ways to better one’s living after problematic situations.

Ways to reconstruct life

First and foremost we should just be altered by tough times and not devastated or destroyed by them. Try out techniques like self-help, adventure activities, like interest communities to lighten the burden of life and try making life less cluttered by staying in a peaceful environ with cheery people around. Try and chalk out weekly schedules regarding your exercising, socializing, diet-regime, pleasure outings etc. Start communicating more with loved ones and believe strongly in the power of expression. Try seeking guidance from experienced personnel like counselors, elders and friends. Do not cut yourself from the society; it’ll just aggravate the process of becoming an introvert recluse. It’s better to be late than ever, identify your capacity and speed and start working to better yourself in life.

The Happy Ending

Once if a deliberate effort is made to restructure life and accept it’s intricacies in a better perspective, one can easily experience the spring that awaits one after the fall. Restructuring means methodical, meticulous approach towards management and in this case is in respect to self-management. An effective restructuring can aid a person to better ones analytical, inter-personal and social skills. Try recouping out of the stress and life will seem much easier and comfortable be it emotionally, physically, socially or psychologically.

In this highly competitive arena, it’s extremely critical for the young zestful teenagers to deal with all sorts of stress, mental traumas, uncomfortable situations and escape out of disturbances in a tactful manner. For teens, grieves are endless. This impressionable era brings with itself a number of socio-psychological and physical changes that an adolescent must take good care of. They go through a number of different intellectual states and mood swings which they need to handle to the best of their ability.

Ways to deal with grief

The youth needs to concentrate on their social, mental and physical well being by adopting a healthier way of living which in turn will help in their overall development as alert, responsible and independent individuals. They need to practice meditation, ‘yoga’, fitness exercises and a diet-regime to maintain a fit and a healthy self. The ever growing burdens and tensions grip these youngsters and hamper their development in a big way. Teenagers need to take extra measures to develop themselves and need to resolve sensitive issues in a wise manner. Teens should strengthen their inner self and look for happiness and satisfaction beyond the materialistic comforts and momentary pleasures like smoking, drinking, drug addiction etc. Good communication with family members, friends and fellowmen is a must. One should strive hard and put in their best to excel in whatever they do instead of demoralizing oneself with negativity and rough thoughts. Teens should learn to prioritize, strategize, prepare and apply themselves diplomatically in all sorts of circumstances.

Happy Ending

Grief if not handled properly can have disastrous after-effects. The home and professional life of adolescents should run parallel and teens must look for better efficiencies to deal with life as it unfurls it colors. Successful living for a teen would include good time-management, self-help, intellectually inclined mind, good inter-personal relations and prosperity in one’s chosen field of study. This period of rapid changes, challenges, incompatible emotions and situations, infinite options, if dealt in a proper meticulous manner, can be “the best part of a person’s life”.

The various types of trauma one may go through are bereavement or normal trauma, bad or traumatic grieve, skeletal trauma or permanent grief. A sense of sadness is instilled which cannot be dealt efficiently by the elder generation as their mind is involved in many dilemmas and their thinking prowess has diminished remarkably. Due to changing trends in modern societies, the elder section is facing serious rejection as they’re being treated as nothing more than a commodity.

Handy Tips to Aid Grieving Old People

One should learn that after around 50 years of life, the physical and mental conditions start deteriorating. Older people have variegated requirements from which need to be looked into by other classes and age-sects. Old people should try adopting a healthier way of living that will in turn enable them to become self-reliant and be happy with their co-oldies and bring them at piece with their own selves. Old age organizations, interest groups, comforting communication seminars should be organized so as to aid the old people and provide them ease during the most difficult period of their life. Depression in the elderly is an under diagnosed and under treated problem. Elder lot should try and mingle with people of same age or indulge in some socially productive work that will enable them to regain self-contentment and happiness will then replace their constant state of distress and trauma.

Final Word

The society and government should take extra measures to look into the well-being of old age. Old people should not be subjected to any sort of mental or physical harassment. Demeaning societal acts, abandonment by family members and unsatisfied mind and soul make old-age the toughest phase of one’s life. The younger generations need to look into the matter with a deep sense of understanding. Elderly should be endowed with enough privileges to support a comfortable and independent living for their own selves. The world should join hands and liberate the old age from fears, traumas, anxieties, and tensions to make this ‘big bad world’ a happy and a healthy global village.

The ways children express grief are usually different from the way adults express it. Children are not always able to use words to express their feelings. Instead, they often express them through behavior. Even children who are able to express themselves verbally may not always be able to express themselves verbally may not always be able to express the many, sometimes conflicting, emotions they have. Children see loss and death in different ways as they grow and develop. How you learned to deal with loss will affect how you help your child. Think about what helped you when you lost something as a child. Don’t try to keep grieving a private affair. Ask child providers, teachers, and school counselors to help your child express his or her feelings, concerns, and misconceptions.

Some more tips:

Child care providers, teachers, and school counselors may also be able to help your child work through his or her grief. Here are some steps for helping children during the grieving process:

* Provide safety and security: To express their feelings related to loss, children need an adult who makes them feel safe and secure.

* Consider the child’s emotional development: Consider the child’s age and emotional development so that you can explain loss and death in a way that he or she will understand.

* Make a Plan: Think about how and when to approach your child.

* Use an activity: Activities create different way for children to express their feelings related to loss. Try to activity that fits your style and your child’s development level. Read books or watch video tapes, Make up stories, draw pictures, ply or act and theirs are activities for children to express their feelings.

* Evaluate the activity: Observe your child during and after the activity. What emotions did your child express afterward?

Thus, the way parents and other caregivers help a child who is grieving often lays the foundation for how the child will react to losses as an adult. It’s important to help a child grieve because children’s feelings are real and its need to express. Their misconceptions need to be clarified and information needs to be shared.

Time and Grief

It is a very old saying “time and tide waits for none” and is indeed true. Time is like a flowing river which is always in relative motion with life. There is no control over the pace of time. It always takes things along and leaves a trail of past behind transforming the present to past and the future to present and then to past. Everything in this world is born with a shelf life of its own and so is the grief over an inevitable loss.

Grief is a state of misery, intense sorrow or plight caused by the loss of a loved one. Different people react differently to the loss. Some get crazy some get extreme numb, irritable, angry some cry and remorse and some even go in a state of shock. There is no defined pattern a person reacts to a loss. A person comes out of a grief through a healing process which is not linear but is cyclic. Meditation, aromatherapy and counseling help a lot too. Counseling basically is a means to let your feelings out in form of someone listening to it.

Time a heal

Grief is a very natural feeling a person goes through when he loses something that has been very close to his heart. It is very difficult to give up something one loves. And when destiny takes it away from us we are unable to accept it as it had been an inseparable part of our life. Time helps in gradual fading of pain. Whenever a kid while playing bruises his knees, it starts bleeding or even gets septic. But then it is cleansed and medicated and with time the wound starts drying and after few days when you look at the place there is nothing left.

Conclusion

Everything fades away with time be it an emotional or a physical wound. Nothing lasts forever in this world. Time passively takes away everything. It is a gradual process where an entity is born, grows with time and is then taken in the arms of death. Similarly destiny gives us pain and various reasons to sulk over but the fact is that nothing lives forever be it pain, your love or any other thing which is born is bound to die.

Introduction:

Grief is healing: To take away our grief is to take away our healing. And learning about life after death helps us heal with greater hope, comfort and peace. It recognized a direct connection between one’s level of grief in and one’s level of belief in an after life because grief is a multi-faceted response to loss. So we need to express our feelings with our colleagues, or family members. Although conventionally focused on the emotional response to loss, it also has physical, cognitive, behavioral, social, and philosophical dimension. The journey through grief is a highly individual experience. Initially grief is overwhelming and people can feel out of control.

Content

No one ever has a problem dealing with happiness or feeling good. When joy comes into our life we experience it freely, but when sadness or grief is present, we often struggle with them. Whenever human being has in grief, he or she needs to express their feelings because grief does not follow a linear pattern. But we can find out reassurance from others who have also experienced grief and an understanding of what people have commonly undergone when grieving can be helpful yardstick. Human being need to express their feelings by various ways at various places. Such ways, you should be diet with your grief such as light a candle, plant a tree, write in a journal, make a memory box, plant flowers, tell a story, make a scholarship, sing a song, give a charity, celebrate with a meal, sharing with children, volunteer your time and so on. We live in a culture that tells us to “put on a happy face,” and this can make it very difficult to be comfortable for sadness. Yet sadness and grief are a normal part of everyone’s life. Whether they are caused by a major loss such as a death of a loved one, or smaller everyday setback, we can learn to live with them greater ease.

Conclusion

Thus for the healthy emotional life, we need to honor all of our emotions and allow them room for expression. When sadness comes, we need to allow ourselves to feel it fully. It helps to understand that is normal, natural reaction to loss, and not an indication that there is something wrong with us.

Spirituality: The Inner meaning

Spirituality is a ride to explore the inner self and find calm and peace within. Spirituality is multi-dimensional which brings with itself self-realization and knowledge of the divine. It teaches us the significance of life, our purpose of living and more importantly unfurls the world that lies within each individual. Spirituality can be tangible and even intangible as it’s highly subjective to the person and the situation. Spirituality is a joy ride that makes us experience an eternal high. ‘Grief ‘and ‘Spirituality’ have an intricate underlying connection. Spirituality is a fool-proof way to come out of all troubles, intrusive situations and deal with life in a soulful way.

Spirituality and Grief

Grief is an inevitable emotion caused due to suffering or some kind of loss. Spiritual healing is the best way to get over grief and put it to one’s own advantage. It brings with itself happiness, pleasure and satisfaction. It integrates this world imbibing in it, a sense of oneness in turn instilling unshakeable faith in the Supreme. Spiritual healing includes channeling of energy to improvise on the mental, social and physical well being of an individual. It makes us feel more secure and safe and provides us with the peace of mind and self-confidence -the two places we all falter sometime or the else. Many medical problems related to sadness and grief and even anguish, anger, mood swings and revengeful mentality can be controlled to a great extent through spirituality. Expressions of spirituality through sacred practice or empathy, service to others or endowing wisdom to successive generations often bring deep personal fulfillment, and reassurance helps mankind mature more successfully and efficiently.

Spirituality: The Ultimate Power

Spirituality encompasses love, compassion and divine regard for life. Spirituality aids us in maintaining our mind, heart and body in perfect condition. It is about us, our relations with others and compatibility with this universe. It is far beyond society, religion, material comforts and proceeds to a state of self known as transcendence. It relates to well-being, morale and self-consciousness and regulation. If practiced with true dedication, it can take us to a higher level of self and make us content and happy all possible ways.

Practicality: The key to Success.

There is no short-cut or100% tested method to overcome grief. Grief is extremely subjective. Being practical in your approach and using your mind and intellect in a diplomatic way will help us in a mystic way to reduce out stress-levels and deal with grief in a poised manner. Look around; find ways to better yourself and your efficiencies after disastrous moments to be successful in life.

Ways to Practically do away with Grief

One should not lose one’s tempo and competence after facing a terrible situation as it simply makes an individual weak-hearted and stammers his faith in humankind and the divine. One should engage oneself in productive work to keep busy so that his mind doesn’t become a devil’s workshop. Try not to isolate yourself from this happening society. Try seeking advice from social workers, elders, health professionals and try to adopt a lifestyle that makes you feels good and refreshed. In no case, one should lose out on hope as the sails of this world are tied to the masts of hope. Express yourself emotionally, vocally or even through written notes. Take on everyday as a new life and challenge to be faced with total courage. Try getting into a calm and positive atmosphere. One should try pursuing and developing one’s hobbies. Make sure you keep up with the world happenings though print as well as electronic media. It’s better to make the best use of a bad time and turn it into a knowledgeable experience than a destructive one.

Learn, Don’t Cry

It is easy to fret and be stagnant at one point in life but difficult, challenging and commendable to get out of difficult situations. Grief is a part and parcel of everyone’s life which needs to be dealt with strong will and good diplomatic understanding. Adapt to holistic ways of healing grief. Self-empower yourself to regain your lost confidence, respect and shattered faith. Where there’s a will, there surely is a way. This age-old adage is enough to raise spirits and befriend life with all its pros and cons.

PTSD : Introduction

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a severe psychological outcome of constant grief which is influenced by the impact, duration and intensity of the experience. It is aggravated by external agencies. It includes a rush of emotions, nightmares, self-remorse, fatigue, emotional detachment and even leads to higher neurological disorders. PTSD develops after a terrifying tribulation that encompassed physical agitation or the physiological threats. The person who develops PTSD may have been the one who was harmed, the harm may have happened to a loved one, or the person may have been a witness to a critical mind-boggling incident.

Understanding PTSD

PTSD was foremost brought to public notice in relation to war veterans, but it can result from a variety of traumatic happenings such as assault, rape, torture, kidnapping, child abuse, car accidents, train wrecks, plane crashes, bombings, or natural disasters such as floods or earthquakes and tsunamis. These victims become emotionally numb and even passive. They try avoiding situations that remind them of the trauma in turn resulting in reclusive and introvert way of living. It brings with itself hyper arousal, avoidance, dissociation and flashbacks. The health condition deteriorates and mind stops responding to simulations. PTSD hence can adversely affect the normal day-to-day living in an extensive manner. The outbreak results in serious actions being taken up by victims like suicide etc. This can be avoided with professional treatment and expertise of health professionals. PTSD needs medication, counseling and personal attention from family members as well as specialized personnel.

PTSD in a scientific vein

PTSD can be cured by individual psychotherapy, peer group support, aromatherapy, eye movement desensitization, timeline therapy, medication and good interpersonal counseling by trained professionals. The repercussions of grief cause havoc if not taken care of. PTSD hence needs to be taken good care of. An alert, strong self can help curbing PTSD at initial stages itself. Cognitive therapies, psychotherapies psychodynamics, visualization techniques are generally advised to victims. Morale-boosting, self-confidence and positive self-talk are a must during the regime. If the various therapies if considered and practiced dedicatedly improve ones state of mind, health and social well being.

There is no correct or incorrect way to grieve. All the position is normal. It is helpful to know that human grief is a procedure that often follows a healing pattern.Shock is the primary stage. It is accompanied by mistrust and numbness. Fault is painful and hard to deal with. This is a usual feeling and eventually it may be solved by believe in self. Anger is a different big factor which appears to be essential in order to face the reality of life and then to get further than it. Every one must heal in own ways. Anger is a natural stage through which one must pass. The anger at the deceased loved one may even make one feel guilty or it may be because the own life continues whereas the friend’s life is over.

Difference stages:

Depression is a phase of grief that comes and goes. Knowing this be always prepared to give self time to heal. Resignation is a late phase. It comes after accepting the truth. Understand that one will never be the same but the life can go on to find meaning and purpose. Be patient with self. Do not compare self to others. Go through the mourning process at the own pace.Admit the hurting and go with the pain.Apply cold or heat to the body, whichever feels best.Ask for and accept help and talk to others.Face the loss and Stop asking questions. Be familiar that a bad day does not mean that all is lost.

Steps toward surviving tragedy:

Talk on what has happened until it becomes genuine. Talk to kind family and friends, go to a support group, begin person work with a mental health professional but find a way to talk about the person who died and how the death has impacted the life and family. State the Emotions, Grief is filled with incompatible tidal waves of emotion. No issue what the range of emotions, all are to be expected through grief. It is vital to get the emotions outside of self. Nothing can make what has happened. Life is curved upside down and changed forever. One can determine that something good and reasonable will come out of the unreasonable tragedy that one is experiencing. While missing the objective presence of a loved one in the lives may continue well into the future, it is possible to change into acceptance of the person’s nonphysical occurrence. What may that relationship be? For some, it is recollections and love carried in the hearts.

Mystical empowerment: The Meaning

Mystical empowerment is a way to use your god-gifted psychic ability to the best of its potential. It is about inner growth and gaining energy that is beyond physical or emotional strength. Mystical empowerment includes practices like praying, ‘yoga’, meditation and ‘reiki’. It is possible to handle all sorts of stress, trauma, grief and bad times with wisdom and gutsy if one is mystically empowered. Mystical empowerment offers crystal healing, psychic development and self-management. It’s basically an overall package that helps a human to promote himself to higher standards of living.

Mystical empowerment and Grief

Mystical empowerment is closely related to grief. A person facing a traumatic phase, a bad time, a dire situation needs immediate assistance to recover out of the same. Self and holistic empowerments comprise mystical empowerment. Mystical empowerment is basically channeling your energy in a spiritual direction. Grief can be cured and rather be used to our profit instead of letting it control and further destroy our life. The truth is that grief must run its path and although it does not feel like it, time is a sure-shot healer. If one allows oneself some time to grieve, one can remember the person without being upset and be able to focus on good old memories. We should try and avoid a solitary lifestyle. Mystical empowerment helps us gaining full control of our lives and win over emotions like sadness, guilt, anxiety, helplessness and fatigue. One can regain total faith in one’s self and one’s abilities without taxing oneself much with the unsurpassable powers of mystical rebuilding. It refreshes our intellect, rejuvenates our conscience and allows our mind to explore the unexplored.

Final Word

One should try and avoid self-sabotaging issues and try leading a happy and peaceful life. Try living deliberately so that your creative, psychological and emotional faculties perform much better. Positive energy, energizing vibes and happy state of mind will automatically follow. Make yourself strong and make your conscience the ruler of self instead of the devil within have the better of your mind and heart.

A person in grief feels lonely and dejected. He closes himself in a small shell of his own which does not have any outlet. Since it does not have any outlet the grief keeps on piling up inside. We can help the person grieving by providing him a vent to those emotions. We can just sit beside them as friends and as good listeners and giving them an assurance that they are not alone. Sharing our own feelings, pain and losses help them see the world in a better perspective too. We should let them feel the pain and should not try and minimize it because it takes its own time to fade away.

The best way a person in grief can be helped is by telling him “I am all ears”. Listening is as good medicine as speaking is.

Some tips which could help you

Patience is the key to good listening. A person needs to be patient enough to listen to and bother himself with something that does not concern him at all. We should provide support to the person who is grieving in form of emotional and mental because he is in a very fragile state of mind. We should try and provide stability to the fluctuations that he goes through. We should talk to the person about his feelings and share our own experiences of pain and loss so that they don’t feel that they are the only one going through the miseries. Loss is an inevitable part of life cycle and everyone goes through it. We should support them to embrace the harsh realities of life and death. The person who deals with people who are grieving should not get impatient and nervous while listening to them because people tend to talk and cry a lot. So the person should be mentally strong enough to deal with such complex emotion.

Conclusion

We should not make an attempt to tell them over and over again that things will be fine soon. Recovery from grief is a time taking process and needs a lot of patience. We can act as buffers or punching bags to which they can let their feelings out without any inhibitions.

Grief is not depression. They are depressing but they are not depression. Grieving is a common response to a loss, while depression is a way of looking at the world. Grief leaves a blank void where a loving attendance once gave fullness to the life. Whether someone looks at life after death spiritually or logically as the natural culmination of evolution or through quantum physics, one comes up with the same answers. Probabilities show that life continues after the loss of the physical body.

Understand that the loved one is still present. Go somewhere quiet, somewhere one can be alone even if it is a closet. Close the eyes. Get still inside and just stand there or sit there and breathe. Give self a few minutes to calm self and imagine how one would feel with the loved one standing right beside. So close and hear him breathe and feel his body heat. The body is a motorized device powered by chemistry. The living, thinking, loving, remembering, planning and dreaming part is life. Life cannot be destroyed it is eternal. Upon the death of the mechanical, chemical body the eternal living consciousness is immediately aware of a sublime freedom. The person is capable of seeing the spiritual body for the first time, and it is exquisite.

Truth of life:

An unborn baby develops arms, legs, eyes, and lungs since it will need them to function in the world into which it will be born. Man develops sympathy, devotion, generosity, hope, understanding and trustworthiness as he will need them to purpose in the world into which he will be born when he leaves the material body. And the quantum physicists are right and if people really do live in a world with numerous dimensions? What if person’s dimensions are all around s they theorize and they really do effect and influence the world? What if the other proportions are the mansions?

Approval of love:

To review, the journey through the valley of grief can be eased by sympathetic and acknowledging that the loved one is still here around. Listen and one can hear him or her. Watch for serendipitous incidents that she or he sends to jog the memory of his or her nearness. Spiritual traditions recognize life after death. Logic deduces a spirit world as the conclusion of the evolution of humans. Quantum physics suggests that there is a lot more to the dominion of man than meets the eye.

Grief itself is natural response that does not require medical treatment. You might be find out some causes and symptoms behind grief such as death of loved one, disable from severe accident, divorce and so on. Your experience of grief is likely to be different from another person’s. Grief is express physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually and grief will subside over time. However, the grieving process does not happen in a step by step. Your feelings are unique. Each person handles emotions and feelings differently. Find the way to deal with your emotions that fits you. So how to manage one’s grief also is depend on person to person.

More suggestions:

You diagnose yourself to manage your feelings of grief but it also depends on person to person. First, you should identify your feelings. Sometimes after a loss, it is hard to figure out exactly what you are feelings. You may have several feelings at the same time or conflicting figures such as sadness and relief. Writing is a good way to identify what you are feelings. Secondly, you accept your feelings. You should talk with people about how you are feeling. Resist the urge to be quite around or avoid people. If you are having trouble talking about your feelings with family members and friends, you will join bereavement support group as early as possible. You should express your emotions. You may feel that this is a sign of weakness. However, if you are afraid that you might harm yourself, talk with someone you trust, your health professional about your concerns.

You should be patient and kind of yourself. Thirdly, you should handle difficult feelings. Each person handles emotion differently. You should know how to deal with some of most common feelings during the grieving process such as dealing with worry and anxiety, getting past feeling guilty, handling feelings of insecurity, handling oversensitive, handling sadness and yearning, overcoming spiritual turmoil, overcoming frustration and anger and so on. Fourthly, you should test your knowledge. A good way to deal with your feelings of emotional distress related to grief is to express your emotions, talk with other people about how you feel, and be patient kind to yourself.

Thus, I hope you would be come out from the grief which you are experienced. But sometimes, however, people need help getting through the grieving process.

A Friend in need is a Friend indeed

A friend is one who’s extremely precious to us, one whom we entrust for life and who’s brain-wave matches just with ours. All in all a dear irreplaceable soul without which life seems turbulent and boring. What when one’s friend is troubled and experiencing a bad phase of his life? What he requires the most is compassion, support and a friend who’ll be with him throughout the journey of life. Nasty goings-on are an inevitable part of everyone’s life. One has to direct oneself and dear ones to grieve in healthy ways and work our way out through all the difficulties.

Ways to Assist one’s Friend

A friend who’s at an all time low of his life requires a helping hand that will aid him to come out of his state of shock. As a supportive friend, one must first of all keep strict vigil on the destructive behavior of the companion as traumatic grieves can lead to the person getting engaged in unethical pieces of work like smoking, alcohol or drug abuse. Victims expect us to be patient, calm, silent-listeners and feel that others should believe in them. We should endow them with some time as one grieves at his/her own rate. Provide them with a company that’ll make them forget their sorrows and bring them close to happiness again. Involve them in group discussions, activities and socially productive work that will keep their mind engaged and reduce the boredom that further results in boredom. Laughter as we all know is a good medicine so try to your make talks humorous and try not including clichd issues like religion, disaster or sad emotions. Try and celebrate smaller joys with full fervor and enthusiasm. Affirm them about their righteousness and acts. Encourage them to express their emotions rather than letting them die with remorse and guilt. Provide an atmosphere that will cheer them up and facilitate them to come out of the grief.

All’s Well that Ends Well

By being natural; showing authentic concern; offering patient hearing enveloped with love and care one can surely help a friend who is grieving. Review the whole scene and try creating a normal atmosphere that’ll lighten the mood. Just be there for your dear pal, who wants you by his side, today and forever.

Grief

Grief is a multifaceted and multidimensional response to a loss. Anyone’s life can be inflicted by loss and overcoming that pain of that loss is a time taking process. Any person in grief suffers from a lot number of mixed feelings like anguish, pain, preoccupation, tearfulness, guilt, sadness. Grief can have many reasons like loss of a loved one, end of a long relationship etc. Grief does not end within a specific time period it is a process defining the various stages a person goes through before his mental balance is restored.

Ways to help a friend in grief

It has been said that a friend in need is a friend indeed. If any close friend of ours has suffered a huge loss which he would be incapable of handling alone we should extend our support and concern to help them cope up with it. The best way to help a friend is to be by his side without him asking for it. Listening is as good medicine as speaking is. A friend in grief feels lonely and dejected. He feels that he is left with nothing in this world and there is no one to help him through his difficult times. He closes himself in a small shell of his own which does not have any outlet. We can help him provide a vent to those emotions. We can just sit beside our friend silently giving them an assurance that they are not alone. Silence speaks thousand words. Sharing our own feelings, pain, losses and acknowledging their grief is how a friend can help another friend. We should let them feel the pain and should not try and minimize it because it takes its own time to fade away. We can act as buffers or punching bags to which they can let their feelings out without any inhibitions. A friend in grief needs a companionship and concern. We just need to be by the side of our friend telling them we are always there in case they need a friend.

Conclusion

A person needs to be sensitive towards the problems of a friend.

Grief is normal response of sorrow, emotions and confusion that comes form losing someone or something important to you. It is natural part of life. Grief is a typical reaction to death, divorc, job loss, a move away from family and friends, or loses of good health due to illness.

Different ways:

How does grief feels. Suppose, just after a loss or death, you may feel empty and numb, as if you are in shock. You may notice physical changes such as trembling, trouble breathing, muscle weakness, dry mouth, or trouble sleeping and eating. People in grief may have strange dream or nightmares, be absent minded withdraw socially, or lack of desire to return to work. While these feelings and behaviors are normal during grief, they will pass. How long does grief last? It means it takes you to accept and learn to live with your loss. For some people, grief lasts a few months. For others, grieving may take year.

The length of time spent grieving is different from each person. There are many reasons for each difference, including personality, health, coping style, culture, family background and life experience and every person who experiences a death or a other loss must complete a four steps grieving process i.e. accept the loss; work through and feel the physical and emotional pain of grief; adjust to living in a word without the person or item lost; and move on with life. We can recognize differences between grief and depression which is different to each others. Depression is more than a feeling of grieves after losing someone or something you love. Clinical depression is a whole body disorder. It can take over the way you think and feel. If you recently experienced a death or other loss, these feelings may be a part of normal grief reaction. But if these feelings persist with no lifting mood, ask for help.

Thus you should be aware about grief and how to deal with it. Whenever you got grief in your life, you would be aware how to deal with grief. If depression or anxiety is making it difficult for you to function for a longer than a couples of week, talk to your health professional about medicine, canceling can also help speed your recovery.
