Most of us do things because we are motivated to do so. A baby cries because he is motivated by hunger. We join organizations because we are motivated by loneliness. What has motivated you to strive for your latest self-improvement goal?

If weight loss is our self-improvement goal, what is our motivation? Are we losing weight because we are teased and wish to be accepted? Do we wish to lose weight because we desire to wear a yellow polka dot bikini?

If you are trying to stop smoking, what motivated you to start on your journey to a tobacco less existence? Did your young daughter plead with you to quit? Did your wife threaten you? Did your doctor show you a picture of diseased lungs?

Did you know that what motivates us can determine how successful we are at achieving our self-improvement goal? Which do you think will motivate you better, something someone else wants you to do, or something that has meaning to you? Well, believe it or not the answer depends on the situation. Let’s say your girlfriend is very sexy and you are madly in love with her. She has agreed to “get serious” with you, if you will lose 20 pounds. If all you can think about is this girl, your every waking moment is consumed with thoughts of her; then I would say that her request will be strong motivation for you to lose weight. You have something to gain from her request. You are strongly motivated by the fact that she wants you to lose weight. Are you likely to successfully lose weight? Yes, unless, she happens to run off with your best friend; then, you will most likely lose your motivation quickly. In fact, you will probably start consuming large amounts of sugar, pasta and alcohol.

When others motivate us, they can control our self-improvement success. What really gets us fired up and focused on our self-improvement goals is when we are motivated by our own self-wants and desires. The bigger the motivator, the more likely we are to stick it out for the duration. Self-motivation = self-control. We have more control over the outcome of our self-improvement goal if we have a reason for achieving that goal that comes from our own desires.

How To Keep That Motivation In Front of Us

It is not uncommon to lose focus as we journey from the start line to the finish line. Other goals, other people or other events can distract us. We can forget what it is that we are working so hard to achieve. So how do we stay motivated?

1.Keep your motivation in front of you, every day

2.Keep a Self-Improvement Journal that details your goal, your plan to achieve it and the benefits you will reap once you accomplish your goal

3.Reward yourself with every step you take towards your goal

4.Make your motivation as tangible as you can

What ever it is that is motivating you, find a way to express that motivation in a tangible way. Find a picture of it, draw a picture of it, or write it out on a piece of paper. Tape your motivational picture up all over your home, at work, at school, in your vehicle. Make sure that you are visually reminded about your motivation several times a day.

Motivation is the “urge” that drives towards the road leading to your goal. Without motivation, you will find yourself unable to take the journey towards the achievement of something you wanted all your life.

Motivation is present in every stage of your life.

Motivation is already present when you were still small. You may not be aware of it yet but it is what makes you do things you think you are not capable of.

Going to school takes motivation. One of your motivations may be your parent. Since they want the best for you, they will probably enroll you in the best school even if they have to save hard for it. Just thinking of the effort your parents have put up to get you to school will be enough for you not to miss any class.

Another motivation is the opportunity to make friends. Human by nature is friendly. Meeting new people is something that every one enjoys doing. It lies in the challenge of getting more and more friend added to your list.

Motivation can also be through extrinsic factors. For example, getting to school means that you will have a new uniform and beautiful school things to take with you. Just thinking of how you will finally be able to use them is enough to keep you excited to get to school.

These are your motivations in your early years. But once you get older, you will realize that there are more important things in life than meeting new friends and having new things. You will begin creating goals that are important for your future.

In secondary school, you will begin striving to get the best grades so that you can get into the college of your choice. At this stage, you are already planning the kind of future you want for you and your family. That is your motivation.

In your day-to-day life, you will see people rushing off to their respective work and you will wish you will have one too later on. Money and success will become your driving force. In the past, you may not have thought of these things. As you grow, you will realize their importance.

It will begin in the workplace. You will come upon successful people whom you can look up to. In the process of doing your job, you are being trained to be the best that you can so that you can move on to a much higher position. This basically means that a higher salary will be given to you. Not only that, there are also recognition and growth to think about.

It is in this stage that you are putting into action what you were just thinking before. This is the most important stage in reaching your goal. This is because you are on your own now. You are not obliged to follow what others are dictating. You are your boss. And success is your motivation.

Before you can reach your goal, you need to go through the difficulties that come with it. But with enough motivation, you will find that the journey is not as hard as you fist thought it is.

It is during this stage that you will finally realize what the true meaning of motivation is and the important part it played in your goal searching and achievement.

Motivation is a term that specifically refers to desire or want. But technically speaking, motivation involves the drive or energy to achieve something. This is the essential element why people become successful. The energy to push through just to attain your goals is very important. The determination to realize your goals even in the midst of difficulties is what you should put into practice at all times : that is if you want to be successful. But of course who would not want to be successful?

Success is within your reach when you have that sense of worth, self-esteem or strength of mind. When you are highly motivated, there’s no doubt that you’ll be triumphant in any venture you will undertake.

Basically, there are different theories of motivation. These theories of motivation are affected by certain biological factors. These biological factors are the main reason why people act differently. This is what makes a person unique.

Generally speaking, the motivational theories are classified into five major types.

The first one is the behavioral motivation. This theory states that people are motivated because of some biological responses to stimuli. This affects the behavior of a certain individual. This is also known as the instinct theory.

The second one is the cognitive theory. This is associated with the labels that people often use for naming emotions, ideas and behaviors.

The third theory is the psychoanalytic theory. This refers to the behavior that is affected by some biological instincts namely: life and death or sexuality and aggression. This theory is established by Sigmund Freud.

The fourth one is the so-called humanistic theory. This states that the behavior of an individual is affected by different factors such as biology and success. This also discusses the hierarchy of human needs such as the deficiency and growth requirements.

Lastly, the theory called social learning. This discusses that imitating others is one of the vital factors that influences motivation.

Now all these theories of motivation have great influence on how people gets motivated to work, to learn or to accomplish something. Motivation is quite complicated to define. But to make it more understandable to people, psychologists and scientists explain it into two main areas of discussion namely direction of behavior as well as arousal of behavior.

In fact, people who are self-motivated have greater chances to attain success. Because of their positive attitude toward life, particularly when it comes to work and learning, people who are highly motivated are most likely to become successful in any endeavor they take.

Other studies have identified other theories of motivation. Although they maybe different in their areas of discussion, still the fact remains – there are some reasons why people tend to get motivated or not motivated.

While according to some studies, motivation has three elements. These elements are effort, determination and direction. Effort refers to how hard a person tries so as to achieve his goals. Determination is the endurance or how people can endure any hardship just to reach his goals. And direction is what your goals are.

For the most part, these motivational theories have a vital role in the lives of every person. Without motivation, there will be no more successful people in this world. Life could have been so dull. Being motivated is what makes people to keep going.

Motivation is concerned with the emotions, thoughts and desires of a certain individual. It is more associated with a dynamic feeling to accomplish any task assigned to you or any goal you have envisioned. Motivation is of the essence in the life of every individual. It’s the energy that keeps you to move on especially during the most difficult times of your life.

The evident traits of people who are motivated and who have this sense of worth are enthusiastic, optimistic, happy, persistent and determined. If there’s anything they want to achieve or accomplish, they will do it wholeheartedly and will do anything just to reach it. They are those who see the positive side of everything. They don’t see problems as obstacles but as a challenge to make them stronger.

There are many aspects of motivation. These aspects are all influenced by certain factors, which are attributable to man’s behavior. There is even a wide assortment of theories that were conceptualized in order to explain further the nature and meaning of motivation – what is motivation? What keeps people motivated? How do you keep yourself motivated at all times?

Motivation has its cause and effect. People who are well motivated are most likely those people who are successful in their lives while those who are poorly motivated are those who suffers from inferiority complex. Now this lack of motivation that people experience is also known as Sum 41 motivation.

Sum 41 motivation is derived from the pop punk band of today’s society who is popularly known as Sum 41. Many love their songs but at the same time there are those people who don’t appreciate their type of music. Their music is quite similar to the songs of some bands like Good Charlotte and New Found Glory. But what sets them apart is their ability to write original songs and of course their musical ability. One of the most popular songs of Sum 41 is the song Motivation. This song is all about lack of motivation. It explains the feeling of worthlessness and being bored. But in general the songs of this band are a blend of different music genres like rock, alternative metal and pop. Their songs are usually politically driven.

Now if you don’t want to be unsuccessful, you must do something. Don’t let lack of motivation impede the success of your goals. Build your confidence and remember to be enthusiastic at all times.

Here are a few things you have to consider to keep you motivated:

1. Have that sense of direction. Focus on your goals.

2. Be optimistic. Always look at the positive side of things.

3. Strive hard. Don’t give up on challenges. Prove to yourself that you’re strong.

4. Smile. Whenever there’s a problem, treat it not as a burden but as a test to make you a stronger person.

All things considered, you have to remember that in every goal, you have to make a plan on how to achieve it. Thinking positively is one of the effective secrets to attaining success. It’s important if you concentrate on the achievements that you have done so far and not on the failures you’ve encountered.

Motivation is the foremost determinant of success. If you want to be successful in any endeavor you have chosen, you should have that higher sense of motivation. Always stay motivated. Do not lose hope whenever there’s a problem that cropped up. Keep in mind that for every problem, there’s always a solution at hand.

What do we mean by student motivation? Why is it important? What is its impact to students? Student motivation is generally defined as the eagerness or desire of the students to join in the class discussion or any activity in the school. It is associated with the underlying principles that cause the students to be involved or not to be involved with academic activities. The student motivation goals, particularly the factors that affect them may vary from case to case basis.

Generally speaking, student motivation is categorized into two groups. These two categories are identified as extrinsic motivation and intrinsic motivation. What’s the difference between the two?

Well, from the phrase itself you can easily spot the difference. Extrinsic motivation differs from intrinsic motivation in the sense that the former pertains to a student that is enthusiastic about the learning process because he or she can get a reward or to keep away from any penalty while the latter is a kind of motivation that is concerned with a student who is eager to learn and is dedicated to achieve his or her own personal goals. This kind of student takes every activity as a challenge and is very excited to finish a certain task assigned to him or her.

What factors shape student motivation? How do they affect the students’ lives? There are so many factors that influence motivation among students. The major factors are the home and the school environment. The home is the place where the child first develops his mind-set for learning. A home where there is so much love, self-esteem and competency instilled in the minds of the child is a good foundation of student motivation. It is a must for parents to nourish their child’s willingness to learn by encouraging them to ask questions.

Another factor is school. It serves as the second home of the child. It has also a great influence on the behavior of the child. The child starts to develop his or her beliefs about school-related concerns and activities. The teachers are the ones that act as the second parent of the child. They play vital roles in shaping the student’s attitude about learning.

Other factors include the developmental changes that the students are experiencing. And also included in these student motivational factors is the student’s interest on the lesson being discussed in the classroom, their self-worth as well as determination.

How do you motivate students to learn? Effective learning in the classroom greatly depends on the performance of the teacher on how to secure the interest of the students. The teachers should motivate their students to become energetic and self-sufficient learners. Here are some things that a teacher can do to encourage students:

- Provide some positive criticisms that the students are performing well in the classroom.

- Give assignments that are within the level of the student’s ability.

- Support the students in their quest in finding the value of education.

- Create a classroom atmosphere that is conducive to good learning experience.

- Let the students feel that they belong to the group and they are well appreciated.

- It’s also of the essence to make your students know what they will do in order to achieve their specific goals.

- Encourage social interaction among your students.

Self-motivation has a lot of advantages over being motivated by other people. For one thing, self-motivation gets past all of your subconscious defenses. When another is motivating a person, he or she already has an opinion about whether or not to be affected. People have subconscious defenses regarding the ideas that other people introduce to them. Some people may appear to accept your idea and be motivated, but they often revert back to their lack of enthusiasm once the motivation session ends.

Self-motivation can also last longer since it does not rely on other people to make it work. Think about this example: Josh is discouraged from studying by the unemployment statistics today. His Father motivates him to study by telling him about the different advantages of having a degree. However, the father soon loses his job because of budget cuts at the company. Because of this, Josh loses his motivation.

The danger with another person motivating us lies in the fact that we must be able to see some valid proof that that person indeed has the authority to do so. If that person loses that certain mark of authority, we also lose our motivation. However, each of us inherently trusts ourselves. Because of this, the only way that we can lose self-motivation is if we find out that we have been mind-wiped. And that’s a very unlikely even tot happen.

Here are some tools that you can use for self-motivation:

1) Writing – Writing is a great tool for self-motivation. Through writing, we can learn how to examine our thoughts and find out what is it that drives us to do what we do. Through writing, you will be able to gain an understanding as to your reason for doing things. However, you should be careful to keep an objective view of your motivation.

One example of using writing as a tool to understand self-motivation is through a diary. Why do you think people write in diaries? Obviously, they do not do it just to express themselves. If expression was the main reason behind this, people could just as easily talk to a rock. People write in diaries and journals to examine their actions and their thoughts. They do this to find the motivation they need to live.

Aside from understanding self-motivation, writing can also be used as an actual medium for self-motivation. In fact, people all over the world have been doing this for a long time. How many times have you written a reminder to yourself? When you think about it, people write self-motivation messages all the time. Some people put up posters on their cubicles to motivate them to keep on working.

2) Pictures – Images are also great tools for self-motivation. People often make use of pictures to motivate themselves to do things. Have you ever since the picture of the three monkeys depicting “See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”? That is one form of a picture made for self-motivation. Some workers put up pictures of successful people to signify a goal that they want to reach. By looking at a picture which bears a deep message, a person can easily attain self-motivation.

These two tools are the most commonly used self-motivation tools by people today. This is because they are quick to provide the message that people need to keep them going.

It is said that nearly every person has the potential to be sales persons. All that is needed is enough knowledge of the product combined with confidence about what the product can do and you are all set. That is how easy sales can be.

But the latest in the sales world is not anymore about simple selling. It is about sales motivation. Simply put, these are the goals that you are requiring yourself to achieve. It can be the outcome of the total sales or the number of customers you have acquired. This is what sales motivation is all about.

It can be noted that without these goals handy, you will not have a definite purpose for what you want to achieve. The goals you have chosen will serve as your guidelines. With hard work and perseverance, you will reach your goals in no time at all.

Sale motivation cannot stand on its own. There is still the actual selling to think about first. What you need for this is to attain the proper strategy so you can be up and selling more than you can imagine.

What are some of the most effective ways to get your sales rolling?

1. Location check.

Primary in your task is to look for the perfect location to promote into. You can do this by looking at location maps or catalogs. If you have the capability to get information about the best places to sell, then take advantage of that.

Focus more on places where you think your products or services are in demand. This is an assurance that you will waste your time and effort trying to sell to uninterested clients. Try to check business cards also. You may stumble upon one that is related to your offers and would like to try yours.

2. Direct mails.

Contrary to what you think, direct mailing is still very much effective. This shows that people are still looking at their mailboxes. Take the chance that they will see your brochures or pamphlets.

There are still a number of households that are not dependent on the internet.

3. Email campaign.

Since most people and business can be found online, there is a high possibility that you have done your business online in the past. Review the emails that you have stored and see if some of them might get interested in what you are offering now.

Do not send emails randomly. It will only be reported as spam and trashed immediately. That would be a waste of your time and effort.

4. Personal phone calls.

If you are personally close to your contact, you can try and call them directly for your promotions. Take note that this should also not be done at random. Majority of people hate it when they get random calls from sales persons. They will just hang up the phone even before you can utter a word.

Once you have mastered these things, you are now ready to embark on a journey towards sale motivation.

Start from those that you can reach easily. No one is rushing you to pursue your higher goals. It is best to take it one at a time so you will be certain that you are not making any mistakes in the process of reaching your sale motivation.

Few people make an impact. In selling, that is. In the quest for finding the best technique and strategy to use in their sales campaign, they have forgotten the more basic ones that would have been more useful.

To help these persons in their task, sales motivation programs are made available everywhere. Not to be outdone, the online world has also embraced these programs. Those who do not have the extra time to attend these seminars only have to log into the internet and join in one of the sessions there.

Sale motivation programs are especially designed for those who want to broaden their expertise in the art of selling. These seminars can teach you the basics to the comprehensive.

Below are some of the basic essences of sale motivation that people are neglecting nowadays.

1. Not establishing credibility.

One thing that people are looking for is credibility. They want to see it from you when you start offering them something. Oftentimes, this credibility is not anymore given focus. Why? Because the main thing on your mind is to be able to close a sale.

Credibility can be radiated directly to the persons who are talking to. Be prepared to be asked questions that you should have answers for. If you do not have one, you may be losing more clients than gaining some.

Credibility can be built by using the products and getting of the services you are offering yourself. First hand experience has more weight than reading through hundreds of pages.

2. Reveal only what you need to.

Some salesmen fall into the habit of telling trade secrets once they are enticed by their customers. Instead of making the sale, you have just told your customers things that they never should have known in the first place.

Keep in mind that you are the one making the sale. You are not supposed to be the one being sold out. Remember your lines and reveal only what is needed. If your customers want to know more about what you are offering, then they are better off getting them to see what they are really like.

3. Learn to listen.

Customers have already gotten tired of salesperson that does not stop talking. That technique has been tried and backfired.

Today, the trend is to listen and listen some more. Customers might have some questions that needed clarifying before they close a sale. They may be looking for some specifications about the offer.

4. Take control.

You are selling something. For it to be successful, you have to have a plan that is ready to put into action. Organize them in ways that there are no loose ends left. Think of possible situations you will come upon. From there, you can evaluate what your moves will be.

Even if you do not close the sale the first time, it will be assurance to know that you got them interested by the way you handled the conversation. You can captivate your potential clients with words that you yourself believe. That will make you even more credible in their eyes.

Do not be among those who have forgotten the traditional yet effective ways of handling sales. Find some sale motivation program that will explain to you these aspects thoroughly before pushing you into the comprehensive ones.

Human beings perform different actions. We strive for different goals and we all live different lives. However, we all have something in common: motivation. We all behave the way we do because of motivation.

People have been trying to understand human motivation for a long time. Many motivation theories have been formulated to try and explain why human beings act the way they do.

One of the more well known motivation theories was written by Abraham Maslow. His motivation theory, popularly called “The hierarchy of needs” attempts to explain motivation through a pyramid or stepladder scheme. He says in the motivation theory that a person will not be motivated to fulfill one need unless he or she is able to fulfill the need below it. Here are the different needs according to Abraham Maslow’s motivation theory.

1) Physiological – This is the primary need in Maslow’s motivation theory. The physiological needs are the things that man must fulfill in order to survive. This includes food, shelter and clothing. People are motivated to fulfill these needs in a very basic level. Only when a person fulfills these needs will he or she be able to move on to higher goals.

2) Safety – This level on the motivation theory involves a person’s needs for security and safety. The motivation theory states that once a person has fulfilled the basic needs of life, he or she will look for order, structure predictability and security. These, in fact are at the core of civilization today. Because of our need for safety and security, we are motivated to form governments and we are motivated to maintain order within our world.

3) Belonging – This level of Maslow’s motivation theory indicates a person’s need for social interaction. This motivation can be observed today through what we call “peer pressure”. A person is motivated to do certain things in order to fulfill the need for social interaction. He or she would be motivated to achieve a certain goal if it would assure him or her of being accepted in a group. This is the motivation that people have in obeying cultural norms. Becoming an outcast of society is thought to be one of the most painful things that can happen to a person.

4) Esteem – Maslow’s motivation theory points out that a person’s esteem needs would be the next to motivate a person to perform an action. A person’s need to be respected is often observed to push certain people to do different things. This is often seen in the streets, where respect “demands” certain actions. People who are motivated by the need for respect often tend to act rashly, thinking about the respect they are going to get, but not the consequences of what they have to do to get it.

5) Self-actualization – All people are capable of self-actualization. This level of Maslow’s motivation theory involves doing something in order to achieve self-fulfillment. People who are motivated by self-actualization often include religious people and the actions they perform may be very hard to oppose. This is because an action which is motivated by self-actualization has removed the greatest barrier to a man’s action which is the self.

As we can see from Abraham Maslow’s motivation theory, there are certain motivational needs that man inherently finds more important than others. This explains why man finds some incentives to be more motivational than others (e.g. cash vs. a pat on the back).

Motivation literally means enthusiasm or drive. It is the driving force that keeps people to push through even when the going gets tough sometimes. The root of motivation is desire. It is the desire that drives you to value things and to identify what’s relevant or irrelevant.

You can see the good results of motivation from people who are already successful in their life. Moreover, people who are poorly motivated are those who suffer from the so-called inferiority complex. People who suffer from inferiority complex are those who are not confident of themselves.

According to psychologists, you have different kinds of desires. And all these desires are attributable to your desire to stay alive. In essence, motivation is more involved with a man’s emotions. It implies a positive feeling that keeps people from doing things. These people who are highly motivated are described as enthusiastic individuals. They are optimistic – they don’t give up easily in reaching for their goals.

In layman’s terms, motivation pertains to determination. But if you would delve deeper into the actual meaning of motivation, it’s beyond that. Motivation can be understood completely when you study the different factors that affect it. Hence, this brings you down to the study of the various kinds of motivation theories.

1. Maslow’s Theory – Abraham Maslow is known for his humanistic theory. This theory of motivation states that the behavior of humans can be understood by means of their needs. Humans act depending on what they need. He devised the so-called hierarchy of needs. The needs of all individuals are distinguished into four main classifications namely: physiological needs, safety needs, belonging needs, esteem needs, self-actualization and deficit needs.

2. Herzberg’s Two Factor Theory – this theory is devised by Frederick Herzberg. According to Herzberg, human motivation is influenced by two factors. These two factors are the hygiene factors and the motivation factors. These factors greatly influence a person’s motivation in the workplace especially when it comes to job satisfaction. Such factors are fringe benefits, relationship with coworkers, physical environment, challenge, and many more.

3. Alderfer’s ERG Theory – Clayton Aldefer has expanded the humanistic theory of Maslow. This results in the theory of motivation called ERG theory. ERG theory deals with the human needs that affect any person’s behavior and way of thinking. The ERG stands for Existence, Relatedness and Growth. Existence includes the physiological and safety needs of people. The Relatedness pertains to the need of people for love and sense of worth while the Growth in this theory is all about the need of humans for self-actualization.

4. Cognitive Dissonance – is the motivation theory proposed by Leon Festinger. This theory discusses that a person is dissatisfied because of unsuitability between two ideas. For instance, you want to buy a perfume, but there’s the tendency that you feel that this perfume is appropriate or inappropriate for you.

5. Self-determination Theory – this theory is conceptualized by Edward Deci and Richard Ryan. This focuses on the concept that humans are motivated because of the encouragement they get from their environment. This theory has identified that the factors that has a great effect to the way people behave is self-sufficiency, positive feedback from people around them and the need for belongingness.

6. Achievement Theory – this theory is states that humans have three basic needs that greatly affect their behavior. These needs are the need for accomplishment, authority and attachment.

7. Goal-setting Theory – this is all about the energy of an individual to reach his goals. The accomplishment of his goals is shaped by three important elements such as convenience, problems associated with achieving your goals and the accurateness of the goal itself.

You may not be aware of it but you are practicing motivation techniques everyday of your life. This is initially seen when you force yourself to wake in the wee hours of the morning to prepare for the day ahead.

The same motivation is the one that gets you through the rough day even though you felt that you cannot finish it in the start. And do you know what makes you feel at the end of the day? Motivation. With this in mind, you are looking forward for the next day with the thought that you are getting nearer your chosen goal.

You may encounter times when you feel like you do not have enough motivation to get you going. It is during these times that you need to remember some motivation techniques so the going will not seem as tough.

What are they?

1. Visualize your goal.

A solid goal is something that you can picture one in awhile or whenever you need to motivate yourself to do more. Take for example the process of losing weight. More often than not, you visualize a person with the kind of body you want to have. That person serves as your visual motivation.

The best thing to do is have a picture or poster put in a location you will come upon everyday. It may be in the door of your fridge or beside the bathroom mirror. This way, you will be reminded everyday of the goal that you want to achieve.

2. Reward yourself.

You may realize that you are losing some of your excess weight little by little. You can reward yourself with food or things once you have gotten to a certain weight requirement.

Promise to get yourself another reward in case you get to the next weight loss level. This way, you are given something to look forward to. Think of something that you really wanted. That would be enough to get you to your goal the fastest time.

3. Write your goals.

According to studies, people who write their goals have a bigger chance of keeping and achieving them. This is in contrast to just thinking and telling other people about it.

Writing it out is like binding yourself to a contract that needed to be followed to the letter. In this case, it is between you, yourself and your goal. After listing them down, put it in a place where you can review and reread them over or when you feel that you are losing track about where you are headed.

4. Be confident.

Start wearing dresses that can shed off instant pounds. When you notice that there are changes in your body, do not loose some of your slack. Continue on doing what you have started.

Show all your friends what you have achieved so far. Indulge in the praises and comments that they will bestow on you. These are not signs that you need to stop and take it easy. Instead, it is a sign that you are doing a great job and is halfway in attaining your goal.

These motivation techniques are the ones that majority of people are doing. It can be noted that these same techniques are also the ones that have helped people achieve even the most impossible of goals. Are you doing the same?

What is the first thing that pops into your head?

For most people it is negative.

It is the feeling of losing control, of being forced to buy something that they don’t really want or need.

But subliminal messages can be positively used to literally change your life.

Would you like help with any of the following?

1) Life Success…
2) Time Management…
3) Attracting Money…
4) Leadership Confidence…
5) Boosting Confidence…
6) Memory Improvement…
7) Improved Relationships…
 Weight Loss…
10) Improving Low Self Esteem…

But when you combine these subliminal messages with the amazing power of binaural beats, plus music therapy you have a powerful combination for change.

For more information check out Subliminal Messages

Now normally these audios cost $29.95 each or more but Paul Kleinmeulman has just launched BeyondBinaural.com and he supplies 12 different audios for one ridiculously low price.

Motivation research? You can always do that over the net. What took experts long years to attain can now be done with the click of the mouse. This is technology at its finest.

Over the internet, you will find numerous articles and advices regarding motivation, its importance and the concepts behind. All people have to do now is go online and get instantly overloaded with information.

Even though there are a lot of things people can say about motivation, the concept remains the same. What are these?

1. Establish your goals.

Remember that you are only motivated to do something if you are certain where that will take you to. If you are not sure where you are heading, then you are just wasting all your time and effort.

Nothing is impossible if you have the motivation and the drive to succeed. This is why you do not need to be wary of impossible goals. As long as you know that you have the capacity to achieve that, then make it a part of your plan.

There are those who end up with the wrong goals. If this happens, you can always go back and start over again. It is never too late. As long as you are alive and well, you can still aim for your goals.

2. Have an inspiration.

Inspirations are the best motivators. They can be persons or things that have made a big impact on you. You might want to be like your parents or friends. The persons that can inspire you are those that have made a big difference. Or they may be living a life not out of the ordinary.

Things can also be your motivation. A house, for example. From the first time you saw that house, you told yourself that you will own that house or others like that no matter what. When you have made up your mind about something, you will do everything in your power to make sure it will become a reality.

More often than not, you can be like your inspiration or you can achieve that depending on how fast you want it done. The choice is yours.

3. Organize your life.

This should be the first thing that you have to do. This does mean that you have to change the way you are living now. It only means that you have to organize them so that you can see what it is that is missing in your life.

Sometimes, you tend to focus on some things. In the process, you neglect other important matters that have the same value. Organize these things from the more important down to the least important ones.

Write on a sheet of paper what the things that you need to do. Then check them out if you are done. Little by little, you will notice that your list is getting smaller and smaller.

4. Find others that are working on the same goal.

You will come upon a time when you will need the assistance and assurance of others. Find someone that is likely working on the same goal as you are. That person will understand you better than anyone else.

By doing your research, you will find motivational sources that will improve the person that you are. Take some time to broaden your horizons.

Part of the marketing strategy of companies that aim to promote their products or services is through posting motivation quotes in places where people can see them. These people are aware that the powerful words they are using are enough to penetrate through the hard shells of the most sensitive person.

These advertisers are aware of the fact that it is really the words that are making an impact on people. Never mind the related products being offered. There are varieties of them out in the market. The thing that people remember is what really motivates them. And these are simple yet powerful quotes.

For example, you are walking in the mall. You are the typical person working and trying to make a decent living. Your eyes came upon a quote saying something about having a bight future for your family. Then bingo! The wheels in your head have started rolling and you suddenly realized that you are not really making anything out of your life.

After that, you begin evaluating your work and what you are capable of. You notice that your potentials are not really enhanced in your present job and that you have not grown over the time you spent working.

You saw an opportunity with another company and you grabbed that chance. You were offered a salary not much different with what you are earning before. But you feel that you have a growth potential in this one. Before you know it, you were given promotion and raise. Thinking back on the years wasted, you regretted that you have not seen that quote earlier.

This is really happening in real life. A lot of people have been inspired by motivation quotes to reach for their goals or attain what they have not really put much attention on before the words got to them.

With the number of motivational books, ebooks, and CDs that are being offered today, people can just grab one or browse for one anytime and anywhere they want to. Some may even read them when they have time to spare. After that, these things will stay buried and forgotten in some corner of the mind and in a dark bookshelf.

According to experts, understanding what these things are saying cannot be attained just by reading them the first time. These experts believe that for the words to sink in, they have to be read over and over. In the process of the repetition, the essence behind the words is realized.

What about motivational quotes that people see in their passing? What makes them so effective? The answer to these is the use of words. For years, advertising has developed their campaign to make people stop and think about what is written. These words can really stop people in their tracks if they are done effectively.

There are simple words and sentences that can mean a lot. There are also those that impart a message even though it is not stated there. The common denominator among them is that they sere their purpose well in motivating others about facts and tidbits of life.

So the next time you encounter a motivational quote, stop and think. Is it written so well that it hit its intended mark? Did it made you think? That is the power of motivation words and quotes at work.

Are you starting to lose your best employees little by little? Is your workforce not performing the way they used to be despite big compensation and numerous benefits? If you answer “yes” to all these questions, then you might need to reevaluate the kind of motivation that you have in your workplace. That may be the cause of these problems…

Keeping the best employees is hard for companies to do; especially now that there are a lot of competitions out there. Keeping them satisfied to stick with you can be done through proper motivation. How?

1. Add some fun in your workplace.

You need to be aware that people working for you are undergoing a lot of pressure. It may be because of their work or those they are working with. This is why you need to break the ice once in awhile so your employees can relax and let their hair loose for a moment.

You can create a moment where pressures can be released and forget all about work for some period of time. Other examples are random occurrences where people can laugh and forget they are in the office.

To keep your employees happy is one of the secrets in motivating them to continue doing their job well.

2. Adapt to personality differences.

Your employees have their own unique characteristics and personalities. Sometimes, the differences in points of view are resulting to gaps and misunderstandings. As the head of the group, you are capable of building bridges and footholds where your employees can meet on the same level.

Get to know them beforehand so you will have an idea how to appease them. Better yet, you can get them all in an event where you can get to know each other and bond together at the same time.

Bonding together has been an effective form of straightening differences. Up to now, it still is.

3. Give rewards generously.

Rewards should go hand in hand with a work that is well done. Everybody wants to have recognition for work achieved. Give it to them.

Just make sure that you remain fair to whatever judgment you have to make. Do not single out on someone. Consider all of them first before choosing the best one rightful for the rewards.

4. Make room for mistakes.

Your employees are liable to commit mistakes in the course of their job. Try to be lenient and correct them properly if they are done once or twice. Their mistakes are the ones that will help them improve.

Give them the benefit of the doubt and do not judge them too harshly because of the errors that they have done.

5. Respect the independence of your employees.

Employees do not like being told what to do especially if they are already good at it. Being head of team does not give you any right to dictate what they should do because you may not know any better.

Let them be and put your trust in their capabilities. They also deserve the kind of respect that they are bestowing on you.

Practice these motivations in the workplace if you do not have them yet. You will see the positive results that it can bring to you, your employees and the company itself.

Success is next to impossible without some form of motivation to thrust you forward. Without motivation you would have no reason to succeed, less the sheer idea of success itself. There are those who succeed only to succeed, they are driven by nothing except the wild goose chase of a success they will never find.

There are different types of motivation: Recognition, money, the things money can by, self-betterment, social status, and even revenge may contain the seeds of motivation. While these things, among many others, are forms of motivation, we can classify motivation into to main types – internal and external.

External motivation is usually a form of avoidance. A potential criminal act may be prevented because the motivation of not being caught is present. Pursuing a path of success as prescribed by one’s parents is another example of external motivation.

It is easy to see why external motivation can be ineffectual, misguided, fleeting, and unrewarding. That is not to say it does not have its place; for it can serve a useful purpose, and in the long run, may turn into its preferred form – internal motivation.

Internal motivation is derived from personal desire and belief. It leads to all-important success factors like: Persistence, drive, consistency, discipline, ambition, and purpose. Internal motivation also reduces bitterness, thereby leading to happiness. This happiness may manifest itself through charity, sharing, mentoring, volunteering, contentment, and other such things.

Another benefit of internal motivation is the ability to correct your course as you see fit. It allows for true growth. External motivation does not allow you to change, unless the external influence demands it.

The good news is you get to choose the type of motivation you will primarily use to succeed. Choose wisely.

Understanding employee motivation is necessary to the success of a company. By knowing what encourages an employee to do his or her job, a company will be able to implement different policies to increase the performance of the workers.

Another importance to understanding employee motivation has something to do with job satisfaction. Despite the many people who are unemployed today, it is still very hard to find a new employee. You will need to spend time and money on trainings. You will have to deal with getting used to another employee. You will need to conduct background checks. This is the reason why most companies today try to ensure job satisfaction.

By being able to understand employee motivation, an employer will be able to ensure that his or her workers will be able to focus on the goals of the company and ensure that the employees will not quit on them.

In order to understand employee motivation, one must realize that people are different. This means that different things motivate different employees.

1) Achievement – One type of employee motivation is achievement. In this type of employee motivation, the worker is driven by the goal itself. This in a sense is like climbing a mountain because the mountain is there.

Employers often make use of this by presenting challenges to the employees. In making use of this type of employee motivation employers often include incentives such as a promotion or cash. However, for the employees, the incentive is only a bonus to the achievement.

2) Advancement – For some employees, their motivation is the prospect of rising up in the ranks of the corporation. They work hard in order to catch the eye of the boss and probably get a promotion. This type of employee motivation is characterized by ambition.

Of course, there are times when this type of employee motivation can be dangerous. Sometimes, superiors may find their jobs in danger because of an advancement-motivated employee. However, if handled properly, an employee whose motivation is advancement can be the best in the business. As such, this type of employee motivation should be handled carefully.

3) Pressure – Some employees work harder under pressure. This employee motivation is rarely manifested consciously in a worker. It is often the case that an employee unknowingly piles pressure on him or her and this pressure pushes them to work harder.

Sometimes, pressure is used by and employee to see just how far he or she would be able to go. However, this type of employee motivation can have some very negative results, considering the fact that every person has a limit. In fact, it often ends up in a breakdown of some sort.

4) Fear – This is one of the most commonly used employee motivation techniques. Employees are often threatened with termination if they fail to meet certain objectives. Of course, if an employee does not handle pressure very well, this type of employee motivation technique could be detrimental to his or her work performance.

The key to the best employee motivation technique is balance. You need to understand that people have different preferences. Since it is virtually impossible to meet every employee’s motivation needs, you must develop a technique that incorporates all of the elements of employee motivation. In doing so, you will be able to ensure your company’s continued growth.

“What will improve my business?” is the question commonly asked by entrepreneurs. Sometimes, these people turn to product improvement for the answer. Some entrepreneurs prefer to “upgrade” their companies by getting new machinery. These people think that by including more technology in their operation, they will be able to increase their profits.

However, most entrepreneurs today are turning towards employee motivation for the solution. Employee motivation can be one of the biggest headaches of an entrepreneur. This is because of the unpredictable nature of human beings. There’s no telling what a person will do when presented with a given situation. Sure, we can pretend that psychology has made a lot of discoveries about human behavior, but the truth remains that not every “truth” that psychologists conclude from their experiments is applicable to everyone.

Employee motivation programs are often used by entrepreneurs to try and encourage their workers to increase their productivity. Motivation is having the encouragement to achieve a certain goal. Motivation is what fuels our willingness to do something. Entrepreneurs need employee motivation programs to help them improve their business. A highly motivated employee will work more efficiently. If an employee is motivated, he or she will be able to overcome any obstacles that people often face in work.

But what should a person include in an employee motivation program?

1) Incentives – Most employee motivation programs often make use of incentives to boost morale. An employee motivation program which offers incentives is said to be more effective. Of course, the effectiveness of this type of employee motivation program depends upon what is offered. Some employers find that the reactions to different incentives can vary from person to person.

Sometimes, people are more motivated if the incentive offered is some sort of luxury item. A couple of limited tickets to a game, a gadget of some sort, and other things that people would be hard-pressed to buy. However, if you want to be safe, cash incentives are always a good idea for an employee motivation program.

2) Interaction – This is the most important part of an employee motivation program. Employee motivation programs should promote the interaction between employees and the boss. Usually, an employee motivation program involves competition. However, one should take care not to create negative energy within the workplace. When employees fight amongst themselves for an incentive, the company usually suffers. Remember that the purpose of an employee motivation program is to have your employees focus more on their work, not on their personal grudges against each other.

3) Repetition – Employee motivation programs should be included in the regular operations of a company. A company should not just have an employee motivation program to temporarily boost profits. An example of an employee motivation program that is implemented repeatedly is the “employee of the month” award. However, a person should take care not to continually use the same incentive as this would become coring for the employees and they would eventually dwindle in their performance because they think that there’s always another time.

These are the common elements of a good employee motivation program. Of course, some employers just prefer the old “work hard or you’re fired” technique, but the additional pressure caused by this rarely increase productivity. In order for an employee motivation program to be effective it needs to balance the rewards and the punishment, and it should always include the input of the employees.

What is motivation? Many people know motivation as the driving force behind an action. This is probably the simplest explanation about motivation. Motivation can be considered the state of having encouragement to do something.

Why do people do what they do? Why do we go on everyday, living our lives and trying to find justification for our existence? Some people think that they can find purpose in the things that motivate them. Others just see the motivation and react automatically.

There is no one thing that motivates people to perform certain actions. People are different, so it follows that their motivations have to be different. Here are some types of motivation:

1) Achievement – This is the motivation of a person to attain goals. The longing for achievement is inherent in every man, but not all persons look to achievement as their motivation. They are motivated by a goal. In order to attain that goal, they are willing to go as far as possible. The complexity of the goal is determined by a person’s perception.

To us, the terms “simple” and “complex” are purely relative. What one person thinks is an easy goal to accomplish may seem to be impossible to another person. However, if your motivation is achievement, you will find that your goals will grow increasingly complex as time goes by.

2) Socialization – Some people consider socialization to be their main motivation for actions. This is especially evident in the situation of peer pressure. Some people are willing to do anything to be treated as an equal within a group structure. The idea of being accepted among a group of people is their motivation for doing certain things.

3) Incentive motivation – This motivation involves rewards. People who believe that they will receive rewards for doing something are motivated to do everything they can to reach a certain goal. While achievement motivation is focused on the goal itself, incentive motivation is driven by the fact that the goal will give people benefits. Incentive motivation is used in companies through bonuses and other types of compensation for additional work.

By offering incentives, companies hope to raise productivity and motivate their employees to work harder.

4) Fear motivation – When incentives do not work, people often turn to fear and punishment as the next tools. Fear motivation involves pointing out various consequences if someone does not follow a set of prescribed behavior. This is often seen in companies as working hand-in-hand with incentive motivation. Workers are often faced with a reward and punishment system, wherein they are given incentives if they accomplish a certain goal, but they are given punishments when they disobey certain policies.

5) Change motivation – Sometimes people do things just to bring about changes within their immediate environment. Change motivation is often the cause of true progress. People just become tired of how things are and thus, think of ways to improve it.

As you can see, there are many types of motivation. Motivational techniques have been experienced by every person from birth. We learn behavior through motivation. We live our whole lives because of motivation. The question that remains however is this: What motivation should a person have? This is important because our motivation decides our behavior. Some types of motivation are more effective than others. However, the perfect motivation for you can only be decided by one person: YOU.

You do not have to look into the dictionary to know the definition of motivation. You may not be aware of it, but you are actually practicing motivation everyday. If you are not, then you have gotten where you are right now.

Worldwide, experts are trying to make thier own definition of motivation. This is in answer to the needs of people who want to understand the essence behind the word. That is why you should feel fortunate because you will be reading about them right here, free of charge.

The true definition of motivation:

1. Motivation is positive thinking.

The thing that drives you to your goal is positive thinking. Without these thoughts available, you will be like a block of ice. Forever frozen in place and not able to move.

You can think positive thoughts by yourself. These may be plans that you have in the future. Although pessimistic thoughts may enter your mind every so often, you have the capacity to shift it back to positive ones when you want to.

Positive thinking will make you thrive to do better because of the rewards that will come with it. Your workplace or even your life is pushed in the proper direction if you will yourself to be.

In achieving your goals, there is no room for negative thoughts. They will only hinder you from taking the necessary steps to the path that you want to follow.

2. Motivation is about taking the needed break from what you do.

The work environment can make even the strongest of man submit to pressure. Since your job takes up most of your time, you cannot avoid being overwhelmed by the continuous flow of deadlines and expectations.

Learn to take a break from it all and unwind. Take some time off to travel or visit some place where there is peace and contentment. By the time you get back to your job, you are feeling refreshed and ready for whatever lies ahead.

Make the most of the opportunity to break from your work. This time is for you alone. Leave all the pressures and stress back in the workplace and forget about them for a while. You deserve the break.

3. Motivation is staying focused.

Problems cannot be avoided. It is part of life. The counter measure to take is to eliminate them from your mind and concentrate on what you have to do. If you have problems at home, do not bring it in the office and vice versa.

Maintain your focus. Problems are meant to divert you from the more important things. Do not succumb in its claws and focus on what you do.

4. Motivation is your mind and body’s health.

The body needs to be taken care of so you will have the energy to face day-to-day challenges. All your goals will seem worthless when you find that you are not capable of reaping its fruits physically.

In the same note, you should also keep your mind healthy through reading and acquiring knowledge from your day-to-day experience. The resources are there for you to grab. Always have that urge to learn more.

Is your definition of motivation the same as the ones mentioned above? If it is, then you are among the many whom already has a clear understanding on what it is you want to get out of your life.
