Dancing for Weight Control

It is common knowledge that exercise is a major ingredient in any weight control program.
The fun way to get that exercise is by dancing. Dancing beats the treadmill any way you look at it. Of course you have to do your dancing on a regular basis, not a once-a-week trip to a night spot. But dancing on a regular basis is just as easy as any other form of exercise.

Dancing can take any of many forms when you incorporate it in a weight control program.
For instance you might take some dance lessons, rather than going to the gym, and then practice at home. Your dancing preference might be ballet or modern dance, or even the hula. The key is to do it at least 3 to 4 times weekly just as you would do any other form of exercise.

Dancing can also be enjoyed as a social activity on a frequent basis, and if it is done seriously (not just a slow dance at a dinner club) it will definitely contribute to weight control and other aspects of good health. Dancing is not only good exercise, both specific and aerobic, but the fact that it is done to music and in a pleasant environment contributes to a state of mind which encourages the discipline involved in weight control.

Those who have discovered all the benefits of dancing, particularly with a participatory partner, happily incorporate this activity in their daily lives on a regular basis. If you are interested in exploring the advantages…and pleasures…of dancing, consider taking a few lessons at a studio with a partner, practicing at home, and then enjoying social dancing once or twice a week. Many have taken this route to healthy exercise to maintain weight control, and have found it to be a major interest in their lives.

If you pursue dancing to the level of serious study, with lessons, practice, and even participation in competition dancing, and combine it with a sensible approach to eating, you will inevitably find that it contributes to weight control and, importantly to a more enjoyable social life.

Even if you are fortunate enough to have inherited, or created, a slender attractive physique, you will find that as years go by most of us tend to gain weight. If we allow ourselves to become sedentary, this tendency increases. So whether or not you now have serious weight control issues, consider dancing as a regular social activity. You will benefit in terms of overall health and add a great deal of pleasure to your social life. Dancing is for weight control…and for hours of pleasant recreation.
