Depict shyness in a positive light




Shyness is always considered to be the black sheep of all emotions. However, you can use shyness to your advantage by depicting it in a positive light.

Misconceptions about shyness

Extroverts believe that shy people have nothing to talk about. They are also frequently labeled as arrogant, proud and worst of all aloof. However, research has shown that talented or gifted people tend to be somewhat shy. Even famous celebrities and talk show hosts are shy in their own private lives. Shyness therefore need not always cause social malfunctioning.

Shyness as a blessing

Shyness can be a blessing in disguise to some people. In its own way you seem different and mysterious to other people. Shy people are seldom lonely and do not require great deal of people to make them happy. They are quiet content with a book. They also tend to have close intimate relationship with people whom they know and can therefore work as long lasting friends. Shy people also tend to do great in certain professions like creative writing. They are also dedicated and known as workers in almost all professions. They are not distracted by gossip or other social happenings around them.

Sometimes mild levels of shyness helps one to understand someone else's perspective. Since they are great listeners and are capable of keeping secrets. many a times they can be good confidants and the best of friends. Research has also shown that shy people are extra sensitive and alert to their surroundings. They also tend to be sensitive about other's needs and emotions and rarely hurt anybody's feelings. If you are shy, then you have some amazing qualities. Shy people are soft spoken and don't tend to brag or boast. Shy people are great family members and make excellent parents. They tend to spend much time at home and are hailed as favorites by their children. The quality of self reflection brought on by shyness enables one to understand and take proper decisions. With careful control, shyness can be turned into a valuable asset of your life.
