Finding morals in a fast paced world

With the speed in which today's world moves it can be hard to have principles and remain loyal to morals. It seems that at every step of the way there is something tempting us off track and away from what we know is right.

The majority of movies that are made today show nothing but violence and have anything but morals in them and the TV series and shows are just as bad. Then we have the reality shows where it seems no one has morals anymore and everyone is lying, cheating and stealing from the other without even giving it a second thought and brandishing it on TV for the whole world to see.

With the majority of people having access to at least one computer in the house, the world is brought right into your own living room or child bedroom which ever the case may be. While the Internet is great for many things including homework and research there is also the drawback that less scrupulous people with little or no morals is always on the look out for seedier ways to use the power of the Internet for wrong.

Clinging to your morals

It seems that everywhere we look morals are fast disappearing or worse – they are non-existent. So how do you hold onto whatever morals you have even find them in such a fast paced world as today?

Determination and strength of character are the two main assets that will allow you to hold onto your values, beliefs and morals. The majority of well balanced people have no problem determining what's wrong and right and what they see or are asked to do by others that goes against there beliefs they can say no too.

Avoiding temptation and immoral people

In order to avoid temptation and to keep younger people away from it there are several things you can do when using your computer. You should first make sure you installed a firewall, other than the one that comes with most versions of windows. This will stop those who have no morals to speak of from hacking into your private information. The second thing you can do is to install a spyware remover and have it run every day to remove tracking cookies from your PC. Thirdly if you or anyone in your house uses instant messengers or chat rooms then make sure they follow the rules of staying safe and not giving out private information such as telephone numbers, photos or addresses. You can of course if you have very young children put a blocker on the computer that will cut off access to parts of the computer such as instant messengers and chat rooms.

Above all stick to your guns and what you believe in and what you think is right and good, you should of course drill your morals into young children as they grow up and show them what's wrong or right. Of course this doesn't necessarily mean that they will listen to you but at least you will be setting them off in the right direction.
