Graduate Course In Couple Counseling
Counseling is a confidential dialogue with the expert and the person who is interested in getting the information. When two individuals normally a man and woman, are interested in keeping sexual relations will have couple counseling. Counselor can have graduate degree in couple counseling. It is 67-69 credit hour programs. By this course counselors will be able to deal effectively with the variety of issues and family constellations that will present them. The students will receive deep conceptual skills and the theoretical and practical application of systems theory. The future therapists must be aware of their own family dynamics and issues. Hence they are invited to explore their own families in terms of rules, roles, rituals, interactions, structures and celebration. So the graduates are able to emphasize and provide help to others.
Requirements for graduate
Preprofessional Requirement course should be completed prior to or during course sequence. Group One course sequence should be completed prior to enrolling in group two. The group two course will be done. After that group three course will be finished. All students should take One 3 credit elective.
Additional program requirements
1) The program of study form must be submitted before 12 credits of course work have been completed.
2) Student must enroll in at least 3 credits per semester or they will be withdrawn from graduate standing.
3) Students must confirm that all prerequisites haven been completed. And they should apply for Internship Placement. 300 clock hours should be devoted to the internship for each six credits. Two six credit internships of 600 hours are required for graduation.
4) Students must register for at least 3 credits of regular coursework in their last semester. Then comprehensive examinations are scheduled once in the spring and fall.
5) Students should present one video-taped counseling session as Part I of the examination.
6) Theoretical Perspective is expected from students and to discuss the major concepts including why this particular perspective is meaningful to them.
7) Written examination of Part II Counselor Preparation Comprehensive Examination is conducted. It is multiple choice exam.
After completion of this examination applicants may apply to the Board to sit for licensing examination. Once he passes examination he receives “Intern” status and can commence working toward their 3000 hours internship under the Board’s supervision.
