There are many reasons why we need to expand our social circle, some of the main reasons are moving home and going into a new community, moving away from home by going to college or university or a break up of a relationship. However, there are many ways in which to widen your circle of friends and to develop new relationships by widening your social circle. Here we take a look at some of the most common ways and show you some tips for getting back the social world.

For those who have bought a new home then starting off by meeting the new neighbors. Even if you’ve been in the area awhile, it is an excellent way to begin meeting new people and widening your social circle. Your neighbors can introduce you to the area and point you in the right direction for the activities that you enjoy taking part in. if you are lucky then will have neighbors that become friends and this is the first step towards getting introduced into the neighborhood circle. Most neighborhoods have get together such as BBQ`s and picnics which you can join in and most communities have meetings once a month where you can meet a wider circle of people from your local community.

If you have moved away to college then there is usually support for widening your social circle and fitting in on the college campus. Most colleges and universities have meeting halls where students can get together and most have sign up for sports programs where you can put down your name and join in.

If you have come out of a relationship that you have been in for a while and you lost touch with most of your friends and need to boost your social circle then there are many ways you can get your foot back in the door. Depending on the type of relationship you are looking for will depend on the way to go, the two main choices you will have will be looking for a romance or looking to meet people of either the same sex or the opposite sex to develop a friendship. Perhaps the easiest way to find romance is by starting online, there are a huge range of online dating sites you are able to join which offer a wide range of activities you can take part in. some offer a free membership which is an excellent way to test out what the site had to offer before making a commitment.

Speed dating is another option worth looking into as this allows you to meet as many different people in possible during the hour or two that you attend the meeting. This is one of the quickest and easiest ways to develop both relationships for romance and relationships for just friends.

If you are looking for just friendship then your local yellow pages is a great place to start or your home towns website will offer listings of get together and meeting places where you can join to branch out and widen your social field.
