Pre Marital Counselling
Marriage is an important event in a person’s life. It is a commitment for the lifetime and comprises a world full of expectations. Marriage means lots of responsibility and lots of responsibility can induce many complications. Marriage is an extremely crucial step in a person’s and this step should be taken carefully and precociously. Couples who don’t have a well prepared frame of mind can face several troubles after marriages. Preconceived notions can destroy relationships. Couples unsure of starting a married life shouldn’t take a hasty step as it can eventually destroy their happiness. A delay is better than being miserable and regretful forever.
Pre marital counsellors help to-be-married couples prepare themselves for all the marital responsibilities. They help the couples realise that life isn’t all rosy after marriage. One has to prepare for various changes like the different sleep patterns, food habits, needs, ideas etc of his\her spouse. For working women, balancing their personal and professional life can be quite a challenging task. It can create tensions between herself and her spouse. So it is important for the working women to decide the way they plan to work out things before they can take the plunge.
The aim of the pre-marital counsellors is to give the couples a clear idea of life after marriage and test their preparedness for marriage. They offer several advise to the potential married couples and make them sit and analyse their own and their partner’s plus and minus points. Premarital counselling even calms down the ones who are a bundle of nerves before their marriage. Therapy is used to help all the under-confident and baffled people. It helps them realise that marriage is not a scary, dark dungeon but is a new path of light. And like all other paths it has its rough and weary patches. Most counsellors’ advice potential men and wives to be more communicative free and open to new thoughts and ideas. They help them realise that having a child is a big responsibility and the idea of having children should come into question only when both the people are ready to administer and handle all responsibilities. So all in all, premarital counselling is the right way to avoid marital counselling.
