Health professional: the Helpers

A health professional aids people to preserve and improve upon their health or lend expert advice to individuals who’re hurt, sick, disabled or even suffering from serious trauma. They help better our physical as well as mental health. Grief is an instantaneous, emotional reaction to a mishap. Many a times, grief turns into clinical depression also. In such critical situations instead of handling issues ourselves, we should seek professional advice and consult health professionals who can efficiently deal with such situations.

How health professionals can help?

The first stage that includes shock, disbelief and realization is the one most difficult to overcome. Health professionals in these situations can help us in overcoming symptoms like anxiety, restlessness, insomnia and loss of appetite etc. by medication and even slight physical exercises. The next step heath professionals can help us with is that they help us make and strengthen out resolutions for the future. They engage us in physical activities, advice us to take active participation in recreational activities, help us communicate better which all in turn results in a ‘new energized self’. They methodically prescribe a good diet and exercise regime which benefits us in many a ways. They help us get back to our original efficiency level as one loses his tempo during such traumatic phases. One should talk one’s physical problems, anxieties and confusions with a health care expert as specialized advice and emotional support is all that one requires during serious lows of life.

Conclusion

If we feel detached, helpless and experience symptoms of depression, we must immediately consult a health professional. Different health professionals like physicians, nurse practitioners, internists and psychologists can well guide us towards happiness and success from a moment that has brought out life to a standstill. Health professionals are just the apt people to look forward to when such situations arise. Grief counseling and healing art are fast becoming popular professions, due to the increasing stress and ever-growing tensions in this world. Support groups and health professionals are a sure-shot way to move on after a bereaved, helpless situation.
