Introduction

Crying is one among the various expressions of emotions. It does not always need to be looked as something negative. It has its own advantages. It has been scientifically proved that grieve if remained piled up inside for a very long time can be disastrous and lead to emotional illness. So it is important that the grieve in any form is oozed out. Different people react differently to the loss incurred in life. And hence the extent of pain also differs. The loss can be in form of death of a loved one, divorce, loss of a pet and so on. The Law of nature is to restore normalcy and hence it is equally important to restore the emotional upheavals to get the normal frame of mind. There are various mechanisms to overcome grief and crying is one of them.

How does crying help?

Crying is an outburst of emotions that a person feels within and that cannot be expressed through words. It provides a vent to those emotions at the end of which u feel light.

Crying is a catharsis which releases yours soul of emotional burdens. It is not always easy to speak your feelings or any emotional turbulence brewing inside. Everything inside needs a vent out and an inability to do so can lead to serious health problems. Crying is considered to be therapeutic and a means to release the psychological tensions. It is also parasympathetic and helps people get rid of their fears too. Crying is a means to communicate to oneself when you don’t have anyone to talk to.

Conclusion

Everything in this world doesn’t happen right or as we want them to happen. Things are not always the way they are expected to. If we succeed at times, there are times we suffer failure too. There are times when we are not able to get over the death of our loved ones or we are not able to get over some traumatic experience in past. Crying lends a vent to all such feelings and emotions. Emotions are irrational and therefore they cannot have rational solutions.

Crying is the best form of catharsis short of out and out scream therapy. If push comes to shove you can even take a pillow, place it on your face and shout, yell, scream to your heart’s content.
