It is a mental state due to loss or some awful reason. It may or may not end in very moment or a day. It has a particular impact on individuals.

How long will this go on?

The time period is totally depending on the experience of grieved person because every person has a unique personality. It also depends on the factors such as attachment to the loved one, the type of relationship, understanding, social factors, etc. At the initial stages, individuals may feel out of control. As the time passes they can recover from shock.

Is feeling mad natural?

At the state of grief it is natural to feel being mad or crazy. Grief always affects on mental status, emotions, physical and spiritual status of an individual. To recover, forget the bad memory and try to learn new things.

Does it have the impact on others?

People surrounding the grieved ones may feel uncomfortable and helpless. Trust the people from whom you are expecting the help to overcome from the grief. Listen to their advice and suggestions. Your family members and friends are always there for you to drag you from the pain. They knew what are your needs and wishes.

You can openly talk to them because they don't reveal your secrets to others. It can help to feel free from heart. They also give some medications for the impacts such as depression, sleep disturbances, etc.

How to help the grievers?

Always be with them and give your helping hand. Listen to their needs and wishes patiently. Avoid asking about the reason for their sorrow. Encourage them to talk about their dreams and plans. Give your physical and mental support to them; say for example, taking care of their kids, cooking.
